VERY ROUGH, but really cool!

https://www.facebook.com/marketplace...9742714932867/

Very rare 1961 Gmc for sale. I just bought it and was going to spend the next couple weeks parting it out but I figured I’d try to sell it complete like this to someone who has been looking for a pickup optioned like this or is working on one like it. It’s a rough old girl but is a custom, with a 305 V6 and a rare hydramatic 4 speed automatic and the correct one piece driveshaft. Motor is froze up, the linkage on the transmission at least shifts smoothly. The custom trim is all there as well. Chrome grille, windshield trim, fender emblems, etc are all pretty hard to find pieces and it’s got them all. Asking $1500 cash obo. If it’s still here in a couple weeks I’ll start stripping it down. As usual, I don’t care nor does anyone else care if you think it’s too high priced or too low priced. There were very few pickups optioned out like this, and I believe GMCs were the only pickups with the hydramatic. Any questions message me on here or call/text 785-two5nine-165eight

You are absolutely correct. You are spot on, on all counts. I do not care who disagrees. I am a parts dealer myself. Not one teenie tiny ashamed of it in the least. We are a big part of the supply chain that makes it possible for others to enjoy the same vintage trucks we love. That gives us the right to makes such decisions. We walk the walk. If anyone wants to criticize that; let the SHOW us. Talk is cheap.

Hey what's the story on the seats in that 61 motorhome posted 6 days ago? I assume they are not stock? And that underdash AC unit is cool. And why would Chevy build a 3/4 ton dually? Is that for chassis's like this camper, where the expected weight gain would be limited to the rear?
I love that thing!

Not Craigslist, but may be of interest...the PickNPull in south Portland has a 1972 van with what appears to be an intact a 3 speed OD trans, the type with the solenoid. The van just hit the yard yesterday.

I went, hoping for an automatic column for my truck...no such luck.

"unique" doesn't begin to describe that truck. I have never seen a white interior. 4+4 with a screaming Detroit is amazing. The stacks could use some nice heat shields. They are illegal in many states because they must exit below 2 ft. or ,,, above 10 ft.
The price is unbelievably low for something this perfect.

It’s a good thing he only posted them for $5 and $10 because I only had a budget of $5 to $10 but now I think I am going to spend 1000 times more

The 4X4 was my favourite transmission, I’ve never seen a B model with one, although I have seen a few with a 3 speed behind the main. I have always liked the looks of manufactures jacking up a pickup cab and building a truck around it. Although in reality they wont stand up to much heavy duty usage.

Well I guess that would depend on weather your buying or selling. The ad says all original so why the chevy hood? If i remember correctly that seat was available in 66, But rare doesn’t make it desirable.

Pretty good looking truck, I could never understand the need for a single wheel 1 ton with a pickup box, as opposed to the dual wheeled flat bed. I suppose there must be someone out there who is interested in them.
