OMG! I think I opened a can of worms on this one...harness modified for electric fan and electric water pump. Two more relays to mount and the dual battery box and solenoid

VT, can I take you up on the offer of the external mounted voltage regulator?

OK, tynee...being shipped in from Arizona...if the MO ever clears

Nice packaging, very well done! No damage in transit. Thanks for marking those 2 bolts, would've never found them

It came with a bulkhead, but having a wood bed raised it up about an 1/2" compared to the steel floor, so I may be selling the original and making a modified version. My last job was working in a sheet metal shop...Oh the perks, don't ever burn your bridges when you leave a job:lol:

Plus my 2 1/2 year old grandson would not have access to his playground in the bed

Strictly precribed by a doctor, didn't even consider trying to mix in my Mobic, for an arthretic hip...but, then again Micheal Jackson had 12 controlled substances in his toxicology report. Look where it got him!

Did the Dr. prescribe the whiskey as well?:lol: Yeah, it didn't work out for MJ very well.

Re: PO has me PO'd

SNAFU...PO has me POed

Seems like my windshield was replaced at one time for some reason, rust, collison, who knows, but I do know it has come back to bite me in the arse! While mounting up the 1/2 top it was obvious it didn't want fit well at the top of the windshield. Taking a diagonal measurement from the top of the w/s frame to the top of the bed, passenger side is 1" longer. It looks like if I winch the passenger side down and back it would be a better fit...problem is fiberglass and glass do not take well to pressure and stress

Wonder how far I can move it without bad things happening, all the gaps look to be within factory specs.

Of course on another note, I have brand new repop window channel rubbers for a double wall top and this thing takes single wall top window channel rubber

Re: PO has me PO'd

If I hear what your saying...the pass. side widnshield frame up top is to far away?

Is that what you meant by 'longer'?

If you pull back the firewall just a small amount, it would translate into a fair bit of change at the top of the windshield frame.

Simply pulling the windshield back isn't the answer till you check door opening dimension's.

Gesh, maybe I should have bolted my hardtop on 3 years ago like everyone said to do:lol:

I may try the comealong idea, see what happens

Well, that certainly is a thought, but before I do that, I was going to hook up a winch to the front bumper and a winch to the back bumper, and put a tree in the middle. Pulling perpendicular may nudge it into shape...I only need 1"

Sorry, for got to add the happy face

Im glad I bolted my top back on and braced everything in before i sold it! Its a pain in the arse working around the braces, but will be worth it in the end. Good Luck

Well, yes and no, I like you hate to work around braces, but I like to have the shop lights shine down on my work so I can see what I'm doing. So, I take lots and lots of measurements, no top in my way and no braces to get tangled up and bang my elbow or head on

Meant to send you a PM, but since I have your ear, how are you making out with the floorboards? Personally, I would get rid of the torsion boxes, or whatever their called these days, makes it much easier to weld up the bottom seam, and seam seal your work. Tri-Pro makes some real nice repops

I got some new ones coming from Nathan at Porterbuilt. They will be here tomorrow. Everything seems to be lining up better, but there are a few little snags that i ran into today, like someone welded the old rocker boxes to the cab! And im not so sure if they are in the correct location!!!! So now I get the joy of grinding those welds off.

SNAFU----averted, close call!!! I found out that if you hang 200 pounds of sh!t from the drip rail, it will suck the top right down

http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace934.jpg

-Greg, thanks for the idea, but I still had some leftover from the PO. He had it stuffed into a crossbrace under the bed, worked great as you can see, but the rest of the metal rusted out.LOL

Found a better product, you can machine it, drill and tap it, and it really sticks to anything

Great, glad your making progress...that someone was the PO:lol: My PO sandwiched 1/8" plate top and bottom of the oringinal floor, then proceeded to fibreglass it in. When I cut it out with the cut off wheel I would have sparks, fire, heavy smoke, and drips of molten plastic I had to dodge. Did you ever get hot molten plastic on your bare skin?

Post up picks on your progress and let me know where they are...Whats that Porterbilt guy like?

Post up pics and we'll tell you if they are in the right location
