Note that there are rubber cushions around the edge of the lens that will need to be reinstalled to prevent rattles.

I found a relatively cheap one that has similar needle sweep angle to original, and should be “simple” to modify and use one of the ammeter decals on the replacement voltage gauge and fasten to the gauge cluster. My question is, do you think it possible to somehow remove the “D BATT C” (from the dash lens glass) and replace with a reverse-print letter decal in a close color/font with “8 VOLT 18” to make it look close to original? Do you know if the letters are painted on, might scrape off without marring glass? I may just try with a donor and let everyone know if it works. I am asking before even looking at the gauge glass but value your professional opinion! |
