Re: 66 suburban build
What?
Another blazer? I like the color of the hood. I say go for it. I think these old trucks look best,... when painted the oem colors. Especially with the new base/clear paints they have now. |
Re: 66 suburban build

Re: 66 suburban build
I have never seen anybody attempt to take that front panel out of a hood before. Thats where mine was rusted out so I just found another hood. Was it a rough job to do or not so bad, looks like a lot of spot welds.

Re: 66 suburban build
I have a dent to fix in my hood, on the p-side front corner. Exactly where you cannot get to it with a hammer and dolly. I have a stud welder and am planing on getting that dent out this weekend; but now that I have seen your hood with the front panel off I may just do that as well or instead.
I have some cosmetic modifications I want to do to that panel as well and taking it off will make those a lot easier to accomplish. I hear you about needing medications for your build... when I initially talked to my wife about my truck it was going to be a drop an engine/paint and go.... Now it is practically a frame off. I cant seem to stop. LOL I like your build, hope you dont mind me chiming in! |
Re: 66 suburban build
You did a nice job of filling the holes in that trans cover.

Re: 66 suburban build
I took my hood apart last weekend too, and it turned out to be more of a task than I had anticipated. Would have gone better if I had just bit the bullet and took it apart in reverse from how it was assembled.... Oh well, got it done, now to modify it, wait for the replacement rubber pads to arrive, and then put it back together!
