Re: Favorite tool you own?
Those are good but those dont have as much padding for my bony butt . Although one time I ripped some carpet out of an RV and was using that untill a worker asked if I had planned on paying for the carpet

Re: Favorite tool you own?
I guess I will join the cardboard creeper group. I would be lost with out a big piece of cardboard since I do a lot of work outside under a shade tree. The cardboard works better for me in the garage because it does not get caught on the drop light cord.
The next best tool is a key to my brother's garage. He has all kind of specialty tools. I just bought a engine hoist not long ago, I have found a lot of uses for it other than lifting engines. Years ago I bought a set of sockets and ratchets, Allied Brand, from one of the warehouse stores - they have served me well for over 20 years now. |
Re: Favorite tool you own?
The box of bandaids. I use different tools depending on what job needs to be done, but I always seem to need this one no matter what job is being done.

Re: Favorite tool you own?
My compressor and air tools. Don't know how I got by with out them.

Re: Favorite tool you own?
It really would be hard to just pick one, but seein's how I'm installing a roll cage and coil overs in the '70 right now I would have to say about half my air tools w/accessories, bench and hand held grinders, wire feed, numerous measuring devices....and then after it's all installed my new favorite tools will be all the spray equipment to paint it to match the rest of the truck....and then....and then...you get the idea, they're all favorites.
I guess any time saving tool would be a fav. including the lights out in the shop because one tool I never seem to have enough of is time! |
Re: Favorite tool you own?
The extendable magnet that picks up the bolts I drop.

Re: Favorite tool you own?
My favorites are reverseable ratcheting wrenches *can't wait to get some of my own* and flex head long handle ratchet.

Re: Favorite tool you own?
One more thing I forgot. I have a piece of a treated 4 x 6 about 3 feet long. It's great to put on the ground to stand when leaning over inside the engine bay.

Re: Favorite tool you own?
My favorite would have to be my 3/8" palm ratchet. I can't count how many times it has saved me from thousands of 1/8 turns with an open end wrench. Second would have to be my 2100 psi pressure washer. I got that for free after I helped a guy work on his tractor. He said it stopped working and he just went and bought another one. I had it for an hour before I figured out that the wand was packed with sand (don't know how, I just know I use it every week on the car after I forget to move it before I cut thew grass).

The one tool I use all the time seems to be single edge razor blades. Just used one a few minutes ago to scrape some 'trash' from a painted panel. But my favorite tool in the shop has to be my "ideal slider coke machine," filled with a variety of soft and adult beverages!

Re: Favorite tool you own?
As silly as it sounds, my 3' pry bar...
Works great to scoot heavy parts over enough to bolt up. |

+1. I love my air tools, and can't believe I went as long as I did without them. |

Re: Favorite tool you own?
At work, it's my 5 foot prybar, or "Excalibur". Anything that needs a little help moving, it helps. At home, definitely my craftsman 26 gallon Air Compressor. I am spoiled with airtools at work, so now I can enjoy them at home too :metal::metal:
