piece heading to Mo's along with the double din case for final sizing.
Need to get some interior renderings for them done so they have a guide and so I will stop making changes Next on the list is vintage a/c controls for HDX placement and vent choices |
Re: The Burb a long time coming
That is going to look NICE
|
Re: The Burb a long time coming
Looks like it's gonna be quite the Burb, gonna give Rob a run for his money.
I have no idea what double din, HDX, or a lot of the other stuff is, gonna have to do some Google searching just to keep up haha! |

lol Rob is safe ...:uhmk:
And the HDX is Dakota Digital's gauge replacement cluster with a lot of features one of which allows me to receive boost information directly into the cluster without an extra gauge and it has a few other tricks Double Din is a stereo that requires double the space to fit. 3" tall cd player .... to a 6" touch screen maybe ..? |

Re: The Burb a long time coming
Well picked up some new old parts for the Burb yesterday
Thanks to richard2717 I am able to hand Blake real tail light and back up light buckets to fill in those holes in the back end ... no matter what a vendor tells you they ARE NOT selling a Suburban tail light housing ... they are ALL tagged incorrectly ...sorry $.02 Anyway, I was dreading the thought of having them stop to make some from scatch because that's what mine were ... scratch Anyway thank you Richard for your help and fair business |
Re: The Burb a long time coming
Finally had time to sit down and find your build. Looks like its an all out project, looking good

Re: The Burb a long time coming
Is this your dash?? Or a similar one? I noticed your fill piece has a bead rolled edge. This pic doesn't appear the same.
http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/a...1&d=1528928874 Curious how easy it is to handle the edge where the ash tray used to be. I don't have access to slip rolls |

Still thinking of removing the vent from the stock location and bringing it in lower |

... or work an extra 5-10 years and pay a professional to do it ... and I was already working besides Blake and his crew went through it and found issues I would have never found , until that part showed it self and needed replacement. And yes a donor would have been cheaper but it wouldn't have been the same tank that got so many thumbs up and me from A to B so many times when it should have said no more:waah: |

No Worries so far, gaping is on point, even in bare metal and no rubber ... Next is the body/chassis test fit, with radiator support, hood and fenders. Just received some Poly body bushings from ESP and ordered the a set of custom inner wheel wells, hoping they will be done around the same time as the chassis so we can test fit on the new chassis in the next few weeks or so. |
Re: The Burb a long time coming
Sweet, I've been thinking about pulling the trigger on repop body panels and doors for my burb. What company did you go with and how much did it run you?
|
Re: The Burb a long time coming
... Went straight to LMC for the doors paid $299 not cheap but they are the correct pieces the first time
luckily my 3rd door was ok to use as was my drop gate and I picked up a used rear hatch from this site for $250 + shipping |

... okay, chassis shipping this month
so I needed to get some things together for the next stage which is test fitting the body and chassis to see what needs to be addressed and to see where I can hide things on the frame Just got in the Energy Suspension Poly body mounts, made them for the suburban and also got a set of "slammed" inner fenders from Hill's Rod and Custom ... Thank you Curt |
Re: The Burb a long time coming
Those are nice! ^^^^
Are they metal or fiberglass? |
Re: The Burb a long time coming
Yes ... fiberglass ... I figure if they can pass Rob's approval on one of his projects I would give them a try
