Have been watching your build. Glad you decided to get back to it. I got stale for a couple of months and then realized the custom little people were not out in the shop finishing it for me. So poof I was back out there making headway myself. Keep up the great work you have a nice build going.

Sweet a$$ truck man! Love all the work on it and love how the upper 4 links are mounted. Pretty trick! One question though. How do you finish the metal to get it to look like that. Just add some clear coat and you have that sick looking metal look. Keep up the great work!

We start off by grinding a mojority of the material away with a 40 or 60 grit flap disc on an electric grinder, then switch over to an air angle grinder with a 3 inch 36/50/80 disc combo, then go to a 6 inch pistol grip air sander and an 80 grit to flatten everything and take the ups and downs out, then we go over everything with an 80 DA orbital sander and then switch to 120, then go and do all of the TIG welding. After that we use a rough scotch brite pad and some WD-40 to keep it from rusting. A lot of guys question the WD-40 thing with painting in the future, but we've done it on both of the last vehicles without problems, you just have to clean everything very thouroughly with brake clean and grease and wax remover and then scuff and scrub everything down and repeat the process 4 or 5 times, sometimes we'll even sand blast everything after cleaning everything really well.

Tell you the truth, im not sure. They're taller then most guys 22's though as we compared side to side when we were working on laying out some newer body style trucks. They measure around 30 inches tall if I remember. I figure the tall sidewall will make for a nicer ride.

I just put a '54 Chevy wheel in my '62 c-10. Gives you a lot more room as the stock wheel has almost 5" of dish.

I think that is suppose to be someones head driving, notice the car is moving. They are sitting low and back and it gives the illusion that its on the passenger side.

great build, one question. on the 04 steering rack, did you have to modify or fab anything special to get the tie-rods to hook-up to the spindles? i love the direction of this build, namely the dash, and suspension.

Wow, I was reading through this whole post and then noticed your right down the road! The name looks familiar, I think your brother runs in the derbies here in Napa with us too....my trucks in Pete's shop (third st auto) right here in Napa. Im gonna have to come out and check this thing out!!
