Those are gorgeous....did they bolt right up or? More details if you don't mind.




Here are the ones I used in my 2wd crew front and back, bit of modifying but all in all pretty simple process. Might use these again here, but want to look at some options. Heated, memory, power seats from a 2000 Chrysler Concorde. Probably ditching the headrests as I have always liked the low backs over tall.

Devillusion, They were pretty simple to install. Just remove the mounting brackets and use the ones off you old bench seat. To mount to the seat you will have to drill a new hole on the rear and put a large sheet metal scew in it.There is a place on the seat to do this. On the front of the seat you will have to block it up 1-1/2". I used a piece of wood about 6" long and mounted it left to right with some large sheet metal scews and then scewed the track to that. Worked out great and it seems to be at the right height. I mounted two of them like this . Just have to get the measurement on the hole centers on the truck to get the tracks space correctly. Took me about hour and a half.

Thanks, they make/sell an exact bracket for 73-87 and probably have for 67-72 as well, it uses all factory bolt holes except had to drill one hole for each (front center). The seats come with slides and they bolt to each corner of bracket, it was really an easy install, I was very impressed. The seats recline back almost flat and fold forward flat to bottom of seat, they slide and even have a map pocket on the backside. They have different colors available and cloth too or you can buy them uncovered for cheaper and have the custom covered yourself.

brackets were part # 81196B and 81197B $76.95ea
seats were part # 80-1400-51R and 80-1400-51L and $230.95 each all were in stock and shipped from www.summitracing.com with no oversize charges.

When you get in a wreck and ride that seat out the windshield you will regret the block of wood and sheet metal screw mounting. Trust me, I have seen it happen. Mounting the seat is just as important as mounting the seatbelts. Grade 8 (or 5 at least) and nylock nuts, bolted to reinforced parts with fender washers if not the factory locations.

Look at the summit mounts above. Hits 3 factory bolt holes. Nice

oh yea good idea...please mount those seats. it's important. last fall i bought a nova with much $$$ in the motor only to find small self tapping trim screws holding the racing seats in place. what the truck was somebody thinkin? easy eject? wow pants almost turned brown when i found those small screws. why throw the oars out in the middle of the lake?

I would have to agree....and even going as far as putting another plate or massive washer underneath if you have to drill holes through the sheetmetal, that sheetmetal itself won't hold much. On the ones above I welded in plates top and bottom 1/8" plate. Just to be on the safe side, kids will be riding around in mine.

my 88 had custom mounts with conversion seats big 1/2 bolts and washers under it

Ok Guys. I may not have explainded my install well enough. What I was descrbing was the seat to the track. Not the track to the floor. The wood block with the left and right sheet metal scews is only to hold the spacer in place. The center bolt in the track goes all the way thru to the seat to the same bracing the original track mounted to. The track is the original to the truck and mounts to the same factory holes front and rear. The rear of the track is bolted to the seat as well with no spacers. Here is a picture .

I'm getting this same seat but in RED for my truck. Did you have any problems with the install

I like these swaps guys. I went a little newer then most of you..
I put a second row seat out of a 2011 Tahoe into my 86 GMC. I had to take off ALL the original mounting brackets and make my own out of angle iron. drilled new holes in my floor as well.

My buddy put seats in his 81 blazer out of a 2000ish chevy IIRC. had them reupholstered by a local guy.

Could you snap some pictures from further back, very interested in this setup. I always thought the rear seats were way too thin to look proper but maybe i haven't paid close enough attention.

Just picked these up at Pic-A-Part
1997 Cadillac Eldorado Power recline as well as heated. Black leather $50 each.
Note the large flat aluminum seat tracks. Should be an easy straight forward install. Will post pics when finished.

How difficult was this swap? Do you happen to have any pictures of the brackets you made? Love the way that looks in there. Nicely done, and how much higher do you sit with those bad boys?

Sorry, I've recently sold the truck and can't get specs on the seat swap. But it sat only an inch or two higher than the stock bench. The back was more vertical as well. They were comfortable. I just cut up the stock 2011 brackets and rewelded them so they'd work... It was a 2 day job. I also use angle iron in some spots.
