Well hinges went easier than I thought, I only had trouble with one and it was my fault. So, now doors are hung and man what a differance. Then I went crazy ..... I had to put it together "sort of" to see it. Here's an idea of what it's gonna look like. Probably the only thing to change is to find a used chrome grill and front bumper to add a little "rat bling".

Looks good Freddy, any info on that gas tank? I need to find a tank, maybe a blazer tank for my S10 project..... What straps did you use etc?
Thanks, Ben |
Re: Freddy's '52

Re: Freddy's '52
Nice work !!
Did you fab the rear shackles or buy them? Hpw much clearence will you have from the frame to the spring eye when the spring is defelected all the way? Those look like I can get my truck 1" lower in the rear by simpley changing out the shackles!! |
Re: Freddy's '52
On the gauges all I can say is WOW that is what I hope to do to mine. Oh and by the way you truck looks great.

Re: Freddy's '52
THANKS for ALL the comments guys.
Solidaxle, the shackles are stock S-10 chassis ones. Took the front clip back off and I got my front cowl patch panels placed Saturday now just need to weld them in place. For you guys doing S-swaps save as many of the c-clip nuts & bolts you can I have found they come in real handy putting the AD back together. If you'll notice the RF fender may look a little darker. I took acetone to that one cause I had spraybombed some primer on it, so I plan on doing the rest of truck. Plan to order window/door seal kit this week, got a 20% off discount coupon from Classic industries burning a hole in my pocket. Vacations coming up next week so maybe I can get some good things accomplished this week. |

What's the overall diameter of your tires and how high to the bottom of the running boards in front? Truck looks good! |
Re: Freddy's '52
Need HELP....can anyone tell or show me how to install the headlight trim rings. Thanks
Got a little work done, but no pictures. A/C compressor and Alt mounts for the LT1 are made, running boards matted to the rear fenders, gas filler in rear fender and steering column mounted to the cab. I love progress. |
Re: Freddy's '52
Nice build project. It is good to see another 52 AD build. I need to update my project thread.

What's the overall diameter of your tires and how high to the bottom of the running boards in front? Truck looks good![/QUOTE] Not sure about the diameter, the size is 255-35-20 & 225-40-18. I know there is a site that figures that info for sizes but not sure the name. I measured the back and it was 5 1/2 - 6 inches front is maybe +/- 1/2 inch lower. |
Re: Freddy's '52
Cool! I would love to know more about your a/c alt brackets.I got my LT1 on the frame today and got it to fire. A Kid standing next to the open manifold jumped a foot I wish I had video.

Re: Freddy's '52
Concerning the tires, check out the tire size calculator at this site. The interface is great. Lots of sites will give measurements, but the overlay picture is a better visual. www.miata.net/garage/tirecalc.html

Did you go with an aftermarket wiring harness or us the existing one? |
Re: Freddy's '52

I have the factory wiring on it I have the entire cars harness laying on the frame right now, I will narrow it down. I teach Auto Tech class, the students are doing it. I would love to see pictures of your brackets for the AC/ ALT, a picture is worth a thousand words. I had a photo copy of your engine to help me and the students decided were to put the engine on my frame. I love plain and simple I want to do as much with used parts and fabrication as I can Thanks Joe |
