I know one thing it's hard to find 75R15" anything, a 15" tire for a truck now takes some calling around. I just went through that with my tires last week. I did not expect that.

Thats funny. I was looking for some 235/60/15s and ended up settling on some
235/75/15s because of availability

I like both. I have skinny whites, sort of. They still have the blue junk on them. I kinda like them like that. Is there any way to stain them blue permanently?

For my taste:
60-61's get semi-wides (up to 2'')

62's either semi-wide or skinny (7/8" to 2")

63-66's skinny (7/8")

and speaking of taste, I think wide whites look too much like these

Thanks Boris. I should have it at both Goodguys' shows this year as long as no problems pop-up. Will probably be at Super Summit and Truckfest as well as Stylin's show. I will be at the Brunswick cruise-ins a lot too.

Why are those your cutoff years? 62's and 63's are very similar. I think wider whites are more at home with the wrap-around windshield years (60-63). These trucks still have a little 'fifties' feel in them... but I like them on all years... skinnies look good too... :chevy:

if you are runnin hub caps of any sort then do a white line or white wall but when it looks like the whole wall of the tire is white that doesnt look right

i also would have to agree with wide whites.. i know thats what i would buy if i could afford them!... too bad im a poor college student and am struggling to finish my truck already lol

Like the wide whites on steelies, shaved on wires, white letter on mags,and you cant beat skinnies on astro supreams.

If you were hot rodding one of these trucks in the 60's you would probably have used red line wide ovals this was "the " performance tire in the hey day of these 64-66 trucks....... I have not seen one with this combination on the forum-----might be food for thought.......I do not mind the skinny white walls but the wide ones are a little over the top for me.

I am using blackwall 17" right now but not the super low profiles like the 20 and 22" stuff which I think is just impractical and ugly...JMO

I would think you could use a tire pen in blue to stain it. Worth a shot, truck looks great with the blue wall. I would love to run a gold line Vogue, but I can't justify the cost.

I had wides on my 65 Rat and skinnies on my 61 now.
