Re: project " Blue-Ray"
some more progress this weekend.....
installed the water/oil sending units, istallled the wiring harness to the engine/trans, bolted the torque converter up, bolted the starter on, and installed the engine/trans for the final time....i also started to intagrate the two harnessess.... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8020032.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8070034.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8070035.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8070036.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8070037.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8070043.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8070042.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8070041.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8080048.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8080049.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8080050.jpg |

Re: project " Blue-Ray"
:metal: thats awesome! i love how everything in the shop has an LS motor in it:D
nice progress buddy. kinda off subject but what yeAr truck is the brake master cylinder out of? |
Re: project " Blue-Ray"
The brake system is the original one that came with the 1984' truck, He just added some paint to to it. This truck you see here was in the condition you see pre-before I did all the other work to it besides body work and interior. Hardley no rust except on exterior panels roof and fender. Surface rust that is. No rotted out rockers or anything to speak of. I found this truck 1 mile from my home and bought it from a friend. It had 47,000 plus original miles on a In-line 6 when bought. Motor frozen up completely. I knew motor was shot and was going to rebuild anyway. It had been sitting at his home for over 12 years outside with no cover whatso ever on it. And it is as clean as you see now when it came home. I guess I got lucky there. Please keep up the good work don.

Re: project " Blue-Ray"
drilled and tapped the pass side head to a 1/4"NPT.. there is a plug on the pass side head, near the rear, remove it, then take it up with a 7/16" drill, then tap it to a 1/4" NPT....done it many many times, with no issues
|
Re: project " Blue-Ray"
thank you. i already set the cab on so i'm not going to try and tap it. i did happen to find an adaptor from autometer today that will work;)

Re: project " Blue-Ray"
got a bit more progress done...i mounted the PCM/TCM on the firewall with some vibration isolaters...then i made a adaptor bracket for the gas pedal, so it could mount in the factory location. also made the gas pedal to computer harness .. then i turned to the fuel system, got a sending unit for a 87 c10 with a intank pump, and combinded that with a high pressure walbro pump, and then added the AN adaptor fittings...i have the fuel filter regulator, to mount with the AN fittings as well....
and of coarse im still working on intigrating the 2 harness... http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8080001.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8080002.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8080003.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8230020.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8240021.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8240022.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8240023.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8290059.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8300060.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8300066.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8300067.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8300068.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8300069.jpg |
Re: project " Blue-Ray"
i also mounted up a mock-up A/C compressor and fittings to see if there is any clearence issues, but it fit like a glove...deffently, looks like it belongs there, and could of came from the factory like that...here are a few pics of the fitment...also sandblasted and painted the exhaust manifolds...
http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8300062.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8300063.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/P8300065.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/a95eee65.jpg http://i25.photobucket.com/albums/c8...y/e724b909.jpg |
Re: project " Blue-Ray"
Looks sweet! That computer setup is so much nicer than the big one.
|
Re: project " Blue-Ray"
whats the Manifolds off of? It looks like one would have to add the a/c after the engine is set in place or can you have it on the engine when it goes in? I cant tell from the pics..
Thanks, Greg |

Re: project " Blue-Ray"
Is that the a/c that you will use or is that just for mock-up ? I'm gonna ask but did you use the 87' fuel set-up because thats the first year they put feul injected on those style trucks that would fit that style tank ? And you needed that for this set-up of motor? Where does the gas pedal wiring hook up at? sorry so many questions, thats why your the man.
