Got a little gift from Mr UPS today. I love dealing with ECE, I only placed my order last week. That is pretty quick for service to Canada. Crossmember, tranny conversion kit, shock relocator's and some seat brackets for my 68'.

I would recommend ECE to anyone.

Today's temperature was 9 degrees, that's roughly 20-25 degrees warmer than normal for this time of the year. I decided to take advantage of it. My pops and I pushed the Blazer outside where I could attack it with the pressure washer.

She cleaned up real good! I took extra care around the markings on the firewall, I would hate to scrub them off after all these years. Looks like I've got a whole bunch of detailing to do now:(

That's +9 degrees Celsius. That's 48 degrees Fahrenheit. Not hot, but definately very warm for this time of year.

I also got a little bit of work done her this weekend.

I'm trying to decide whether or not to rebuild my factory control arms or just buy some tubular ones. Parts alone for the ball joints and cross shafts are only slightly less than a set of CPP arms. Plus I would still have to replace one lower arm and sandblast and paint them.

Well after a serious amount of thought, I came to the conclusion that the paint on the firewall was just too rough to save. At some time there must have been a pretty big leak around the M.C. as there was almost no paint left in that area. I decided to just paint the lower part of the wall.

Although it seems to be a bad word, I went with color matched spray paint. I think it turned out pretty good. The final test will be tomorrow when I peel off the masking.

I also had time to work on the engine assembly. Piece by piece it's coming together. I know the valve covers are a little dated but I've always wanted a set. I am really looking forward to the overdrive:metal:

Really looking good. I think painting the firewall was the right call. So the exterior paint is original? Looks incredible in pics.

Looks good. Did you decide to go with the tubular control arms or rebuild?

I'm disappointed I don't see my Blazer up on your wall, but I guess it is a stock 4wd and that's not what you're going for.

Love the color matched firewall.
Thank you for resisting the urge to paint it black like almost all the owners of these old trucks.
Besides,... that's my favorite color.

Thanks. The exterior has been repainted once approximately 15yrs ago.

I haven't made up my mind yet on the arms. Don't take offence about the wall:) I love all these trucks no matter what the style is. In fact I almost bought an orange/white 4x4 years ago.
I've done the black firewall thing in the past, I just think that a matched firewall ties the whole truck together.

Motor is back in. Paint on the firewall turned out good, it's a little more orange than the factory color but I can live with it.

I don't know if you noticed, but there's a big block powered , dropmember equipped swb under all that debris.........

Thanks to Slammed66 I was able to make up my mind where the control arms are concerned. PorterBuilt it is. Coil spring for now, but it'll definately make it easier to bag it at a later date.

Excellent choice on a-arms!
I personally think they are the only choice for C10 owners.
So many different options,... from Porterbuilt.

I agree. The only reason I was thinking of buying someone else's arms is Nates delivery time. I waited too long to order and it would take about 8 weeks to get a brand new set. At least.
