In the first pic of the second series of pics you posted yesterday (the one w/the rag on the pass fender), it looks like the burb is dropped? But it looks like that was a pic taken before you put the drop member on the front?

That picture was taken with the FRONT drop member on it and the coils removed from the back with the frame resting on the rear end. I just put air in the bags to lift it up off of the ground. This is the new MAX height for the front with no motor or tranny in it. This was before I pulled the rear end/trailing arms out.

Oh ok, makes sense. That's about the ride height I'm looking for on my burb. Guess that's still a bit lower than a 4/6 drop. (Trying to go easy as I want to keep this one on the road and not turn into a major project like my 67 SWB lol)

LOTS of progress today!!! Notch is all bolted in, frame is cut. Tomorrow I'm going to attack the trailing arm cross member and trailing arms. I want it back on the ground by the end of the weekend.

Honestly, I don't really have a plan. I have a couple ideas in my head but haven't decided yet. The one I'm probably going to go with is to buy a couple tubs from summit or something (they're only like $75 or something) modify them to go over the tires and built a frame and lay some sheetmetal over it. I've been kind of kicking around the idea of building a frame and doing it up real nice with wood instead of metal but we'll see.

Almost!!! I still need to hack off the trailer hitch on the back and re-make it and pull the stock tranny cross member out before it's ON THE GROUND. Still need a couple parts to completely finish it because my fastener box was missing them but I'm sure Nate will send them out on Monday.

Sad part is I have a 24'x24' attached garage and an 18'x24' detached garage. My detached has all of my yard stuff and other projects and my attached is where I park my cars so the Suburban is outside.

Removed the POS hitch that was on it, installed the panhard bar, and trimmed the front fenders. I still need to do a little more trimming in the back and on the hood. I'm proabably going to take a day or two off. I'm getting a little burned out. The goal is to have the rear bags on, hood hinges done, front shock mounts on, and all shocks on by the end of the weekend.

I haven't spent too much time on it yet. I just tore it down and stripped all of the paint off of it. I ground off all of the tabs and smoothed out the valve covers. Probably going to get to putting it together next week.

I bought some Hedman headers for a Chevelle. I don't remember the part number, I'll have to give you that when I get home. It seemed like everything I read from others basically said to get Chevelle headers. Obviously not full length ones. I'll post pictures when I get to that point.

Its really not bad at all. Basically if you can take the old cross member off, you won't have any problems with putting the new stuff on. The only thing that is remotely difficult is the notch in the frame for the steering but thats not even that bad. Plus he includes very good instructions that even have pretty pictures for those of us who don't know how to read :lol::lol:
