Green, the truck is looking good, I like the color you're going with.

I'd be interested in buying the part of the dash that you remove if it isn't already spoken for or trashed. I need to make some repairs to mine and just need some small pieces. You can see what I need from the pic.

It is pretty well trashed. But LMC and most of the others have a fairly cheap replacement panel. Mine was only about $40

Thanks Green. Repairing those holes is way down on my priority list so I'll keep looking. I only need one of the raised circles to fix mine so I'd rather spend the $40 plus shipping on something else for now.

Trying to get the radio panel welded it. I made several mistakes on it and i think I really made it harder than it really had to be. The last picture is me pulling the panel into place, I'm hoping the final product won't......suck.:smoke:

I finally getting the front put back together. I have the new brake line in for the front in. Need the master cylinder bracket and Prop valve to continue on that. But untill then I think I'll do a little wiring and and maybe stab the engine. My goal is to get it so it will run by the weekend of August 13th. Wish me luck. Also yes I know the shocks are not mounted correctly..

Some gr8 work. #7 showing the lower front fender mount was the hardest part for me to repair, yours came out real nice. My cab corners are next.

Thanks BC Toy Chest. This is the steering wheel I want to use, I didn't want to go too custom but wanted a little more "spice" than the stock.

When I had the original sterring wheel years ago I repaired it, painted it and chrome plated the horn cap and it was still an ugly steering wheel, hahaha. Yes I like yours much better.

Man I hear ya! Its been around and over 100 degrees around here for weeks after working in it all day I just cant go out to work on the 57 until it cools off some! Sucks for getting anything done.:devil:

Getting ready to do the brackes on the truck. Received the dual master conversion bracket from CPP..... No too impressed for the $93 I spend on it. It was completely covered with paint/power coat, the picture I have is the only side i didn't already clean and paint. Also there was mounting hardware missing and extra washers... Pretty sloppy

The front suspension is back together. And here are picts of the engine getting stuffed in. I was happy the HEI dist fits (just barely) but to use stock style manifolds are....tricky. The left side hits the steering box and can not be put on. I'm either going to have to notch it or go with another exhaust system..... This doesn't help me to not hate V8's!!! Hopefully I can get a 250 L6 sooon!!!!

I've been doing metal fab for quite a few years...
I've also collected/amassed quite a collection of specialty tools over the years, and they've proven invaluable in the success of my work.
SOoooo....I was a bit excited to get a glimpse of the new "monkey foot" you mentioned.....


I guess I'll probably never get to own one of them dang things after all.

HELP!! I'm getting ready to do some replacing of panels on my fenders. I need any advice you all might have, like if the rear brace should be touching the fender at the front of brace.

I put in a aftermarket fuse box under the dash on the driver's side should be really clean.

I decided to do the right first. I thought it was going to be easier.... not true it was rusted at the bottom and I had to cut a piece of the fender skin while putting the brace in. The first is a pict of the bottom rear corner upside down, the marked section to cut out, the new piece with the old and the last one is my attempt at reproducting the piece.

It can be kind of a pain trying to do this without all the right tools but keep at it and you'll get there.
I had to do one of my lower front fenders also and it turned out O.K.

The truck runs now, I need to get the cooling system installed before I can tune it but yeah.. Also got a factory (hens teeth) sway bar installed, and shocks. Be on the road beofre you know it. Also have the ac plate installed for the lines going through the firewall. I'll get pictures sometime when there is light out.

Green, a ram horn manifold will clear the steering box easily.

Now I know why my truck had a ram horm on the drivers side when I bought it and a twin to yours on the right side.

Maybe this pic will help. My box is up front, but you can see the stock recess next to the shock. I ran the stock box with the same manifold set up without any interference. Manifold dump is in front of the stock steering box location, the way GM designed it.
