I don't want to drop it, I am going to research different wheel tire combos I may have to go with bias ply tires to get what I want or go to a LT tire

Then I striped every thing I could off and took it to the scrap yard. Sold a lot of parts to members here. Thanks guys

Yep but it was the most humane thing I could do I striped her naked and only left the rusty stuff. Parts are in Chicago, St Louis, Washington State, Mississippi, Pa. and the bracket for the master made all the way to the Netherlands so she is keeping others alive and the rest is being recycled to make new Fords:haha:

would you think these would fit just fine on some stock 15 in. 6 lug rims on my 69 longbed c10? I really love the look of these and want some wider tires.

FrankieD 11-21-2011 04:49 PM

Re: 70 C/10 from Cali to Illinois

you would need some 9" or 10" wide wheels.

Re: 70 C/10 from Cali to Illinois

What size would be ideal for my rims then..I have some worn out 205/60 tires but I want to go as wide as I could

Depends on the width of your wheels I would go to your local tire dealer and talk to them and have them show you what they have.

Picked up a used 2002 Imperial trailer Tuesday so now I need to get that checked out before I get back to the truck looks like this one but not as nice paint. It will make hauling the truck a lot easier than with the Bob Cat trailer.

Digging the new (not pictured) trailer.

Craigslist find?

But of course Craigslist! Needs a little work but the price was right. I was surprised how expensive they are new $6000 FOB plant in Illinois. I haven't had a chance to take any pix of it yet, it came with 1X1 square steel tube sides which came in handy last week for scraping. I need to put some kind of high marker in the back with a 5' dove tail it kind of disappears when backing straight in.

Here is the new trailer figured I would try it out and found out it's really easy to load with the long wide ramps. I think if you have a lowered truck or car with out bags this might be the one to have.

the back of the truck cantilevered a little because I had my plow on.

Your truck is looking great! Your trailer is very nice! Nothing wrong with having those easy out ramps either!

Re: 70 C/10 from Cali to Illinois

It is an Imperial trailer same Mfg as my old trailer, they are made in ILL. but I have never seen one on the road. I want to put tool box under the front deck like they have on the newer models so I don't have to carry the chains, binders and straps on the truck all the time and then sand blast it in the spring and re-paint it. I made a receiver for my winch over the weekend so that is one thing down but the weather is going south fast so I don't think I can get much else done.

Nice Trailer, looks solid. I bet it is hard to see when backing up with nothing on it. and yes the WEATHER....I know just what you mean.

Re: 70 C/10 from Cali to Illinois

Yes it disappears when backing straight in, I'm working on putting some kind of removable post on the rear with a light on top, I am also going to add more lights on so it is easier to follow backing at night. I already backed into a concrete barrier wall when I was dumping some scrap, kind of embarrassing.
There is a dealer in Bloomington and they are made in Olney IL.

I thought I would post a vid of her running she sounds good. The mufflers came with the parts truck so I stuck them on to quiet it down I'm going to run 2.5" out the back once it hits the road.

Not sure how far you are from Decatur, but weather is suppose to be in the 40's for a few days starting on Sunday. we'll see what happens. I don't like the COLD!

Re: 70 C/10 from Cali to Illinois

We are at a high of 26 and low of 13 today 28 tomorrow 39 Sunday so Sunday looks like the day to hit it, I have a torpedo heater so I might try for Saturday with my insolated coveralls. I'm right between Chicago and Rockford off I-90 so we get that cold from the north that whips down.

Re: 70 C/10 from Cali to Illinois

Sure wish I had a heated garage I was sanding on the fender wells outside today 35 deg, dam cold. The wife has been pretty good with me and my son stinking the basement up. I was Fiberglasing and bondoing the rust holes on the right fender well where the battery acid ate it up and my son was rattle caning his winter wheels for his 93 short bed.
Now I need to find some place to paint the fender wells they are a little to big to paint in the basement.

Re: 70 C/10 from Cali to Illinois

Glad to see the truck running. I like the cold! But with that said my cold and your cold is different. We have only had about 5 nights in the low 30s' and the day was in the 50s' so far this year. Today was beautiful at 70' degrees, I was wearing shorts, tee shirt and flip-flops. Now the summers here are killer. I don't like to go outside hardly at all.
