Today, I installed the transmission cross member 14 bolts. It isn't going any where. Also installed the power steering gear box. There is a little difference between the 1967 and 1968 frame. You have to cut the radiator core support. The power steering box sets 1/2 inch towards the front, so the mount has to be cut and shims need to be installed to bring the gear box out a little. as you can see in the pictures. that took me about 30 minutes for both. The rest of the day I cleaned and painted the dirty transmission to get it ready to be married to the 350 4 bolt.

Re: 1968
Going to install all my parts that is gloss black before I paint the frame. This way I can paint over any scratches that I might have caused. It was a good work day. The weather was real nice here in Florida not hot just good working weather.

As far as the trans, you should be able to cross reference the #'s on the side of the trans. |

You call weather in the 60's a cold spell?
Thats the best temperature to work in. I agree with you that grill is in pretty bad shape its going to take a ton of patience to get it right. You are doing a great job so far, I'm pulling for you, keep your eye on the prize. keep on truckin! |

Well, I thought I would work on small parts today, but that did not happan. The other day sme one told me about a hose reel that I could have. All I needed was a new end on it. The hose reel had 250 ft of 3/4 hose on it. What a deal. I had to pull the hose out of the weeds. I did not know that 250 ft was so long. But it is home and up on my shop wall. Still need a new end. Maybe tomorrow. I got new outside rockers and waiting for the inside and new pillars to come in.
left and right front pillars (ordered) left and right rear pillars (ordered) left and right kick panels (ordered) left and right inter rockers (ordered) upper and lower ball joints (ordered) complete set of bushings (ordered) tracking arm, front sway, trailoring arm. transmission mount motor mounts |

After I painted my frame. I went to work on my fenders. I took them apart from the inter fenders. I have 2 lefts and one right. My right is not worth fixen. So I will be looking for a right fender. Tuckers I guess.

I also worked on my inter fenders. Got one done. There was about 1/2 inch of undercoating. That stuff is too hard to sand blast. It took me about 2 hr to wire wheel the inside. I will post the results of that tomorrow.
