I just saw on the local station the gentleman who bought the Cameo is from NH he's a collector and sell's Pontiac muscle car parts, he said he does not plan to do any thing to the truck just leave it the way he bought it and display it in his collection. His business is Ames Performance Engineering

Re: OK who bought trucks at the Lambrecht auction??

He probably cringed at the storm that went through Saturday morning and washed half the dirt of all the cars.

If you search online there is an article about him and it shows the trucks new home and the rest of his collection.

Yezzi and I went out to the auction with Delmo and I picked up a brand new 1964 at the auction along with a car. It will be in town this week.....plan on getting it fired up and driving quickly.

It's a huge POS but only 18k miles I thought it was worth trying to fix up. Might be going straight to the junkyard when I bring it home tomorrow!

What makes you think this truck has 18K original? IMO, this truck was one of those "trade ins" that Lambrecht never sold. I would probably be too imbarresed to sell that one also. Yes, that may be the mileage the odom, but looks like a 118K vehicle that was probably traded in sometime in the mid 70's. There were a few other '63 thru '66's that were in the same pretty rough condition, typical of what you find today all over the country.

Re: OK who bought trucks at the Lambrecht auction??

I got looking at day one , and the 59 belair was bought for 18K then on ebay for 25k and it has 55k on the clock ... there was another 59 at auction on ebay that could not even get to the reserve ,people stopped bidding at 10k.....and that one was a driver...

I still want to see pics of these trucks once you guys get them home ...

I was only assuming/hoping it had 18k. You're right though there's now way it's only 18k miles. It's way too beat up for that. Not sure if it's salvageable or not.

My wife has one very similar. He daddy bought it brand new. He lived at Rockford Ill at the time. He gave it to her a few years before he died of cancer. He never drove it during the winter. The heater was marginal. by the time you take cold air from the cowl and pull it through the heater core with a 160 degree thermostat you freeze . The poor heater saved it from the rust belt rigors.

Re: OK who bought trucks at the Lambrecht auction??

Looks like a true survivor right there. I ditched my deluxe heater for a standard in cab heater and I actually like it better. Worked good, but I wanted more room in the engine bay with the big block going in and I think its a little more efficient.

Funny thing about the auction I listed above....closed in the 50's, but they have a 67 chevy truck listed????

Re: OK who bought trucks at the Lambrecht auction??

I attended a vanderbrink auction at Westville Oklahoma a few years ago. The prices to me seemed exorbant. they had a $300 minium starting bid. Anyway I seen the elephant and have no desire to go to another of that type of spectical. Folks with more money or credit than brains being caught up in mass histera losing all common sense. What I do to warm up the heater on the 60,s trucks is seal the outside vent with duct tape and partially open the air vent in the cab. that lets the warm air recirulate in the cab. yes I prefer the 60 thru 63 in cab heater to the one that clutters the engine compartment. Mt father bought a new 64 chev pk. He worked building the steel mill in northern Indiana. The heater wasn't up to what he wanted. So he installed as a auxuallry a South wind gasoline :smoke:powered heater in it. it burns gas and has a pilot light! It worked really good I still have that heater

Re: OK who bought trucks at the Lambrecht auction??

I agree, the prices will probably be sky high, but it would be cool to walk around and look. There are few places anymore where you can see so much American car history from those era's.

Updates? Any known action for a former Lambrecht truck lately? To me, these weathered time capsules still have massive appeal.

Right here! Has the most common drivetrain at the auction, the 230 6 cyl with 4 speed, but this one has the 292.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Chevrolet-C-...m=182109768647

DEALER..... just park it in field and wait 47 years then trim for desired look
