Now that you don’t have to deal with CA DMV are you gonna do a frame swap? What ever happened to that short 2wd frame at the wrecking yard?

Hey there Andrew. I’m not sure if I will frame swap or cut it. I might do a rear clip like your Dad did on the green truck. I don’t plan on bagging it but would like a fairly low static drop that doesn’t hit the frame when you hit bumps in the road. For now I’m just going to try to preserve it a little. The seam sealer on the cab is gone so water and leaves got in and s tarted to get the toe kick area and the interior roof skin above the windshield. I’m so glad to have it home and out of the weather. If I hadn’t done that, I would have a MUCH bigger project.

Picked up a 72 C-10 frame for the front suspension and disc brakes from another board member. Thanks Uncle. Can’t wait to convert to 1/2 ton and disc brakes.

I am putting a 72 frame/chassis under my 67. I won't have problems some do in other states with registration. In Fact I already have it registered........

Re-build the 72 chassis. Build everything as you want allowing you to get the disc conversion & clean/paint/detail everything as desired. You can have the original 67 as a easy reference for anything.

Then, when the time comes, swap the 67 body over to the refurbished chassis. Sheet metal can be swapped over in hours if you have a good crew for the help (or days if it's just one or two). Allows you to get things completely done chassis wise vs. having to take the assembled truck apart for the work.

I considered that but I’d like the frame and body numbers to match. No big deal but it matters to me. I’ve stripped the 72 front suspension and have began cleaning. When I pull the trigger, I’ll remove the front clip and engine. The cam is flat anyway. While the frame rails are accessible, I’ll do the crossmember swap so I can use the 72 brake line routing and start with all clean and painted parts. I’ll clean, epoxy prime, and satin black paint everything. Thanks for your input.
