Just a word of advice, just paint it. That way if it peels and you always just touch it up, with PC if it peels you're done and hafta have it sent back out. Same reason ill be painting the frame of my truck

Re: A New teenage member!

When we built my dads truck we had the frame, complete suspension, inner fenders, core support, rear end and tons of other parts powder coated and that we about 3 years ago and it has held up very well with no issues at all. But with that said I will more than likely paint them because of the price of powder coating.

Progress pics! Today I started by degreasing the engine, draining the oil and coolant and then began pulling parts. I removed most of the parts and pieces from the core support such as the horns, charcoal canister, fan shroud, radiator, radiator hoses, battery tray, and a few other parts. Here are the pics as promised!

I'll turn this picture for you . . . and welcome !!!

That's a pretty nice truck for a 16-year-old !!!

My 70 was BUILT when I was in twelfth grade !!!

I hope you decide to keep it looking as stock as it is now.

I do have a question On why are you using the vacuum port on the driver side of the Edelbrock carb you know that Port should be blocked off From where your pulling vacuum from your sucking Oil vapor back in to the carb

Now if your not running a PVC valve witch you should your filling your Carb with oil

That line is for my vacuum gauge

Re: A New teenage member!

most of the time you don't take it off the Ford distributor side only time you get Vacuum is when you step on the gas

Just dropped the engine off at the machine shop, should have it back in about 2 weeks. Going with a factory style rebuild but should still have good power. I did add a little bigger cam but that was all. This shop built is a 340 hp, 325 tq sbc go oit 63 wagon and we have loved it so far. And the best part? His prices are very reasonable, only $995 for my factory rebuild!! I also got the parts dropped off at the powder coater today, should have all the parts back by Friday! More pics to come next week, stay tuned! :chevy:

Haha thanks. I just dropped off the inner fenders, battery box and core support at the powder coated this morning and it is only going to cost 200$ to blast and powder coat them! Should have them back on Friday!

Got the engine back from the builder on Christmas Eve and have been working on getting all of the parts blasted and painted. Should have most of the parts on the motor within the next few days. Lately I have just been working on getting all the nuts and bolts painted and cleaned up to go back on. Should have some assembled engine pics tomorrow! For now a pic of my parts table will have to do. It is so nice to be working with clean parts now!!
