Guys I fixed a easy way to move the cabs with a engine hoist.
I used a 5" fixed caster base removed the wheel and bolted it onto the hoist where the chain goes. Then lag bolted it onto a 2x10 with some 2x4 reinforcements. It worked like a charm.

Been making some good progress:
*Steering & Brake system is mocked up and brackets made
*Got holes filled on firewall primed and a little filler to smooth things out.
*Engine tore down for inspection since I never heard it run, looked good and made some cardboard templates for accessories (found a goody down stuck in the pan have no clue where it come from or what it is)

Progress made on painting, firewall completed. Color on stick will be my interior color and I am planning on painting my whole wheel the same color. I saw that on the "speed is the new black" episode with the rat rod Chrysler 300. I liked the look, although I am spraying the peel off paint on them first so if I don't like it I can peel it off.

Great color choices. Love LT1s in these trucks!

I recently ran into some riddlers. They seem pretty sweet for being inexpensive rims. At least less expensive than some of the $300-$400 ones. Will be interested to see it down on all fours.

Pretty productive long weekend plus extra day off.

Got interior painted, although I've got to spray dash once more and both rear side sections cause of dry spray...got lost cause of all the overspray and lack of light. And I didn't want no runs or tiger stripes. More light and a fan for next time.

It's basecoat with a activator, which lessons glossiness. I think I like it.

Got doors striped and primed ready for paint, but a storm came up last night and prevented finishing. Actually a blessing cause I forgot to pick up a tube of seam sealer to caulk up the rotten bottoms.

Also got a lot of engine work done as well, new gaskets and such things. hope to sit engine and tranny in the chassis on Saturday.

Everything looks good but I have to question why aren't you fixing those door bottoms instead of masking the cancer with seam sealer? No bueno!

I really wrestled with that decision to fix or not but, mainly time and also the bottom of the outside skin would need replaced as well. That would mean faking the patina if someone wants to go that route after it's bought they can. The interior color is common pewter GM color so it would be easy to match. Attached is the worst one, I made is structural with some car tags.

Well, re-sprayed interior last night as well as doors and windshield trim. I thought the color was very close to my rims, so I took one out of the box and compared and WOW couldn't have got much closer. So rims will stay the way they are.

Tires got mounted yesterday, so I had to put them on. Just the left sides for now. I think I have 2 inches between the rear and the fender and 1 inch on the front. Now trying to decide if I want to bump them out a little, and if I want to take the 255/45/18 back and swap them for 255/40/18's... just a little to much tire on the front IMO. I thought I'd be ok but now that I see them no so much. I had to lay the hood on and set the door in place to see what it's looking like, of course without a drivetrain the front sits up but I think we are gonna hit it on the nailhead.

or add a little more tire to the back to even things out. Tough to tell from the comfort of my sofa, but it does seem like a noticeable difference in sidewall. Are they 20s on the back?

Yes, those are 20's.

Got my tires swapped out and the 40's is just right. It is amazing what the difference a tire brand makes. When I saw that tire combo at Rod Run I thought it work, but ya never know.

I wouldn't say no to another few pics. I'm almost convinced I need that exact wheel setup. They are cool as hell and I particularly love the stance the 20s on the rear gives you. I'll be keen to see how the drop looks on the front once the engine weight is in there.

Pictures will come soon, maybe Friday. I did get the engine/tranny in last Friday night. Haven't put front clip back on yet. So once the front is back on I will snap some to show everyone.

Snapped some shots tonight. Using the truck manifolds I had to notch my frame for clearance. Good clearance for steering shaft. Just about 1 inch difference in "Fred" and "Eugene". I must say I'm very happy so far.
