Tipping is gonna work. We chipped a little paint on inside of lip - but we can touch it up pretty easy

Re: High School Project Build II
Glad everything went well with the first project. I'm in for the this one! There is a member on here, 65standard , who did a really nice job cutting long bedsides to short. if you didnt know better you would never guess it. along the same way you are doing it. Id suggest him for any questions you may have about it

Re: High School Project Build II
I noticed you decided not to remove the surface rust in areas where you are fabricating a new seam trapping the rust inside, is there any particular reasoning behind that, I'm wondering what if any consequences there are concerning that decision.
I don't have any experience welding or fabricating so I'm not implying anything, I just want to know if it's better to leave the rust or to remove it then seal it up, or if there are any products that can be used to inhibit rust in areas where you will be applying heat to weld on or near a seam. |
Re: High School Project Build II
We did remove the paint just where we welded. Whatever you treat bare metal with and then weld it you burn up whatever you treated it with. Were gonna paint the rolled edge and our welds
