Re: 1967 C30 Napco 4x4 questions
The guy I bought the truck from told me when I picked it up that the gentleman from Indiana wanted him to give him his word that it was sold but he wouldn't until he had spoken with me since I contacted him earlier in the week. I've had a few people upset at me for sneaking in and buying it? When I was the one originally interested I'm sorry if some people are upset but the seller was a legitimate guy and was tired of craigslist associated bs. In the end the truck will get restored and another napco will live for the next generation to enjoy. I'll keep everyone up to date on here of progress. Thank you

Re: 1967 C30 Napco 4x4 questions
This thread went all over the place. My post# 32 shows that. Until the third page it looked like all were screwed out of it. At first I wasn't sure if someone sniped it as a result of your post here or if that was already in motion before you posted. It sounded like the guy was promising everyone and coming through for none...at least here. After all that I see it suggested that you should have offered more and that really put a burr under my saddle. So, it turns out you made the deal. I guess your question got answered in actions as well as words. This truck in particular was very "desired". Had I known it never sold last year it would have been sitting here since the end of April when I sold my '85 Jimmy.
I had a '71 C/30 SRW NAPCO that got stolen from the place that removed my utility body (sold it) and was looking for a used contractor dump set-up made for SRW. It already had a plow. I was going to retire it to the family farm up in the mountains to work firewood, clear snow out to the road, and general bopping around in the perfect mountain chore boy. I envisioned this as it's replacement. I would restore it, use it with care, and take it to antique truck shows, as well as car/pickup shows. I did that in my '71 wrecker a few times and it was a big hit! That is such a cool truck and very very special. It is an absolute custom truck from 1967. Custom doesn't always mean fancy, especially in the truck world |
Re: 1967 C30 Napco 4x4 questions
Thank you special k I actually purchased the truck for less than the asking price I don't wish to disclose how much just will say it was south of $2500. I'm sorry if anyone has bad feelings towards me or the truck but un the end it will be a useable truck here at home so anyone wants to see her please contact me. Weather forecast shows high of 2 degrees here today so no pictures but next week if it warms up some I'll get some shots of her thanks.

Re: 1967 C30 Napco 4x4 questions
Glad it went to the OP, doo142. I never tell a soul about the trucks I get until they are at my home. Lost to many to loose lips and Snake like people.
Can't wait to see lots of pictures |

Re: 1967 C30 Napco 4x4 questions
I read all 3 pages of this and my 2 cents dl21smith was first in line and it looks like doo142 was sniping it. I don't know if this is true and I'm not trying to upset anyone but that's the way it looks. I don't know where the 0 to 100 comes from as dl21smith NEVER stated he wasn't interested in it and was asking for information to validate the purchase. He also stated he had an agreement with him before you did doo and even tried to warn you.
I'm sure neither one of you knew what was going on in the background with this guy and you were just playing the cards dealt. Time to get over it and be glad it went to someone on here that is going to take care of it. |

Re: 1967 C30 Napco 4x4 questions
It hard because I had big plans to chop it, bag it with a big C notch, go to 1/2 ton five lug, chop the frame to swb length with fake patina. Would have been cool!!! Lol ,this will give us something fun to talk about. Peace !!!

Re: 1967 C30 Napco 4x4 questions
OMG, grumpy old man said he was out because the op had thought about putting a longhorn bed on the truck. DOO if you were gonna CHOP, CUT, C-NOTCH, BAG, this truck then i am happy as hell you didn't get it. I like a lower stance on our trucks but to ruin a NAPCO by doing this makes me sick to my stomach!!!
To each their own i guess. |
Re: 1967 C30 Napco 4x4 questions
7oldno it definitely won't be bagged c notched lowered I promise that just can't decide on a bed it will remain a bad ass truck not a lowered c10.

Re: 1967 C30 Napco 4x4 questions
d21smith i went to check out that truck this morning to take some pics, but unfortunately it isn't a longhorn like i had thought. It is a custom camper big block truck. I will send him a message and ask if he knows of any longhorn beds. He has a lot of stuff and would be the one to know of a longhorn. I would like to check it out but will wait a couple months for the weather
I will throw you my number just to have 217-331-8301{Mike} |
