Re: In the body shop
The color on the Subaru is darker and will look better against that beautiful dark brown
. I think the Porsche cream, as light as it is, will look almost white against the dark brown. Get you some different colored poster board , tape it to the truck , and back up a bit to observe it. Frank |
Re: In the body shop
I agree, too light of a cream will look white against the dark brown. see if your local sign shop can let you borrow a chip chart.

Re: In the body shop
Good ideas .....thanks

Re: In the body shop
That shade of cream on that Porsche would really go nice with other shade. Nice choice!:metal:
Waiting to see this thing finished. |
Re: In the body shop
I just contacted my painter today he said most likely by the end of the week I will have my truck unfortunately he only has two years of experience and not comfortable painting a body stripe funny thing is when you look at his work and all the effort he puts in it you would think he has way more experience so when I get my truck it will be a solid root beer Brown..... I did find a paint shop that will paint the stripe for me for $500 so I might just go there he said he would have it done in 2 to 3 days but I'm going to see what the truck looks like when I put all the trim and bumpers back on before I have the cream striped laid

Re: In the body shop
Have you considered doing the stripe in vinyl so it could be removed later if you wanted? Idk if that's a good application for vinyl or not though...can't wait to see it done though.

Re: In the body shop
I did that and got 20 questions from you. Why do you say "PM me" and then never give an answer? Confusing for sure. Honestly, why are you so ashamed of who is doing the work that you won't mention it? The truck looks awesome so obviously the person has knowledge, why the hiding?

Thanks for your post on the cream color I've decided to go with a light cream from the Porsche 911 because in the Sun the truck looks extremely light brown only in the shade or dark does it look dark brown my inspiration comes from this truck I seen at a car show in Moreno Valley just this past weekend

Re: In the body shop
Your truck is going to look great either way. I tend to like two tones since the side stripe fits these trucks so well. The colors you picked are super classy. The truck will have a classy look when done and I bet it draws attention everywhere it goes. I can't wait to see the finished product.

And the subaru white(ish) color has far too much red in it. |
