Not surprised truck no longer has them. 1968 was the last year for mega wheel options for the C20, 1969 saw only 2 wheel offerings. C 20 tire options in the middle blue column.

Actually, that was 7.00x17.5 tires. I always had to repeat myself at the tire shop. ''17.5'' didn't sound right to shop guys, somehow.
My '68 C/10 [also a Fremont truck] originally came with those tires. Rim was a 6 lug 5.25'' x 17.5'' unit. Great rims. Worked even better with 8" tires. 8R-17.5 Yokahamas were lively. I wore my rims out before I even hit 300,000. Go figure? But I was rough on 'em. I couldn't find replacements by 2001. Had to go with 16'' rims and 235/85/R16LTs.

Nice original '68 Chevy.

As far as the carpet color choice, I like the Teal sample on the left. A little more blue in it gives it character, but it's only my opinion.

The center- 1st choice. Left- 2nd. None of them will look bad

I like the center too, here's my interior, almost a perfect match. But I'm bias as a believer carpet should only be in cars;)

Definitely the center one

I went ahead and ordered the middle one. Even though its going to be a lot of teal/green/mint (whatever you wanna call the colors), I feel like itll be okay because old cars were weird and have colors that often wouldnt look good in modern cars but they can just pull it off. I also went ahead and ordered some floor mats as well. I need to get a new gasket for the trans pan as that leaks a bit. I need to track the leaks but I have now put 700 miles on the truck without any problems that I didnt cause myself lol. The door sills arrived and they fit without any massaging like I expected. Now I just have to wait on the carpet and I can focus on something outside of the interior. One day if the damn rain ever lets up I can Por15 the frame and body underneath.

I also gave the rusty tailgate and acid bath treatment and it removed all of the acid stains on the paint and it cleaned up nicely. Ill toss some pics up when it stops raining one of these days and I can get a solid picture. About to go on a big push on my flipping business with the properties so the truck is going to be spending a lot of time working with me haha.

Happy St. Patricks day! May I just say that Jameson whiskey is the drink of choice for the night. Of course that means its time for a post on the forums. Shows how I spend my time. Ok folks. Update time.

Interior all tied up. I am glad I didnt go with black carpet. I think this gives the pickup a ton of character. Tied together with some green chevy bowtie rubber floor mats and new door sills:

My buddy has a 1959 Ford Custom 300 that he inherited, but it has been stored in his dads farm for 30 years. We pulled it out of the mud in the barn and moved all the chicken nests off it. We got all the wheels loose. and trailered it to his garage. The motor has only 5k miles on it in the 30 years. It has good compression and it turns over. Cant believe it after all this time. My truck helped rescued it and it didnt miss a beat. Here are some pics of the motor pulled and then after we cleaned and painted it:

Got ridiculously filthy cleaning that thing. The pressure washer blew grease and sludge like crazy. note the guy with the chevy pickup working on a ford motor but wearing a VW jacket. I am loyal to no car brand apparently:

Anyways, the c20 should be getting a couple more updates. I got the same tire size put on the truck on all four tires, since the rear tires were a lot larger (Previous owner wanted to use it for hauling wood). I have new 2" lowering springs waiting to be installed in the front of the truck, and then I am going to do a 4" drop in the rear. I just got all the parts tonight so those should be going in soon. Ill drop some before and after pics once competed.

Thats all for now

That interior looks fantastic! You must be happy with it. Glad to see your truck is a WORKING truck... my C20 is nearly done, it's a daily driver, haulin', pullin' and burning gas. Like a horse, I think they get sad when they're not doing what they were made for!

Re: 1968 C-20 with 67,000 OG Miles Build Log/ Thread

Well the past few days have been interesting. I sprayed carb cleaner into the carb while the car was wasnt running. And then I pulled the dizzy cap to inspect it and also rotor wear and the points. Threw it back on and I couldnt start it. Long story short I was just throwing parts at the thing hoping it would start. Threw new coil, new cap, new rotor, new points, new plug wires, new plugs (replaced them even though they were done like 1000 miles ago), and new batteries cuz the batteries were like 10 years old. What finally got it was just point adjusting. Now I know where to look next time. In addition to that though, I now have learned everything there is about the ignition system. Also this car starts up and fires unbelievably quick now, faster than any car I've ever owned. I have a carb rebuild kit coming at the end of the week so Ill make that a weekend project. Also I need to figure out how I can lower the rear end of this truck. Flip kit sounds like I need to notch the frame but I dont really want to go that low. Front is obvious, but since I am on leaf springs It doesnt seem as easy as if I had rear coils. Anyone have any advice for me to level the truck out a bit, I have 2" drop for the front and I want about a 4" in the rear? Remove the overload leaf? Buy arched leaf set? Let me know

I can't really help ya on the lowering question but I have to say it looks so perfect just the way it is... If you are going to be hauling things in your truck I think I'd leave it be but that is just me.

Been up to some stuff. Been driving the balls off this badd truck.

Carb Rebuilt. Running like a champ.

Matching key chain for maximum street cred:

Finally Spring days are here with some sun, its been far too long without a sunny day:

Street cred acheived. Rolling on a cruise with some new pal. Other guy is a c10 with the 503 paint job:

More sunny day pics

2" drop to the front. Gotta figure out the rear still. maybe just pull the overload leaf and the bottom one to level the truck out.

Cleaned literally 50 years worth of **** off all the suspension. Eventually just took a wire wheel to everything and spun the greasy muck off, covered everything with POR 15 to protect it and it makes it look way show quality.

Lowered, also being driven by my girlfriends little brother, who at 8yrs old appreciates the old truck...

Going to let the 8 year old drive it a little? I was 8 when I drove my dad's 70 C20 the first time (in our driveway). I think that's when I got hooked on these trucks!

Also took a modern fan and gave it the vintage touch. it runs off USB and it looks nice all put back together but I only have this picture after I gave it a clear coat

https://c1.staticflickr.com/3/2900/3...a9978b6a_c.jpgUntitled by James Webber, on Flickr

Looks good hanging under the dash, but I only pull it out of the glove box if its really hot out, which it wont be until late june anyway. lol

Thats all for now. Detroit steel is coming out with 8 lug smoothies soon so once that happens there might be an altitude change and wheel swap. although I will keep the stock hub caps and run them on the bigger wheels, i will likely give them an acid wash and then clear them in a matte clear coat to preserve

Nice truck! I saw it on Craigslist when I was on a business trip out there. Gave me visions of buying it and driving it back!

Playing around with some crude photoshop pics of potential stance for this thing. Re arching the rear springs will be done by a local shop just need to contact them. And I'll probably go another two inches in the front so I will be down a total of four inches. This how I expect 18" Detroit steel wheels with my hub caps to look roughly. stock height picture included for reference

Been following your thread for a while and figured it was about time to comment.
Your truck looks great and your plan for the stance and wheels is inline with what I was thinking for my truck. Can't wait until the bigger diameter 8 lug steelies are available.

This thing gets so much attention on the road, im not sure if its just cuz where I lived is like the truck capital of the world or if its the dramatic color. I get people asking questions anytime I go out in public. lol was cool initially now its just everyday

Radio isnt working, probably the speaker went. have power cuz the light is turned on. Ill probably break into investigative mode here this coming week, anyone have any ideas or tips for me not to break :D

The Coke bottle opener is too cool. [Don't tell anyone, but you can also use it to open tall neck beers].

Maybe when you decided to post a picture of you flipping off the camera?

Id like to see a picture of that fan put together, even if its just resting on your dashboard or something. That way I can get an idea of size when I can scale it next to something I know. Ive always thought those cab fans were a neat accessory.
