I have asked Holley these questions.
Here is the response I have gotten. "I checked with Product management and we do not have anything ready for release yet at this point on specs or price point we should soon. We are targeting end of February." Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: LT1 GenV swap
Info only, l83 manifolds are a no go.. driver side is acceptable, passenger side impossible without serious frame cutting. Gonna finish mapping out the exhaust ports and get a set of flanges cut out maybe 2-3 sets and sell em to offset the costs.
Gonna go to the bone yard and see if there are any tall hump tunnels to cut out. Clint |
I could probably get you a set of 3/8 stainless fanges cut fairly cheap no need to have multiples to offset the cost....

Re: LT1 GenV swap
I'm still sorting out how retrofit the 2015 fuel pump into the 87 tank... it already has a baffle.. but the opening is only 3", and the main reservoir with regulator is 3.15 ish.. plus the upper plastic parts that houses the regulator ...so if use the whole assembly, this is what I think would work out
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/8861/7NIMOZ.jpg Basically the octagon shape plate will get welded to the tank, and has the base for the oe sealing ring, a spacer since the o-rings is so thick, and the top ring plate to sandwich it all together. If I could find a flat gasket that fits the pump, that would be better since it could be made out of the same sheet of steel. Kinda stalled out since I'm trying to source a high hump tunnel.. struck out at 3 pick n pulls. If anyone has a line on a 81-87 truck or 81-91 crew cab high hump tunnel pm me. Also looking for pictures of 4x4 suburban floor pans to see if that could work. Hours of searching and can't find a single suburban high hump picture on the Internet. |
Can't help you on the high hump stuff.
Have you looked at Ricks tanks.... they have weld on rings and fabrication parts for fitting factory latemodel fuel pumps. Still waiting on a reply from my shop on the other parts. Hopefully Tuesday. Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: LT1 GenV swap
Rick's got some nice stuff, pricey, but nice product. I found a salvage yard for the high himp trans tunnel.. got 2 on the way.. one for me and one for the next guy that has trouble sourcing a high hump tunnel. Gonna toy with the fuel pump sender again.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Got the pair of high hump tunnels in today.. who knew this Friday the 13th was also hump day :metal:
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img921/2861/GpA5q7.jpg One for me and one to sell. Both in perfect shape. Gonna plan out how to go about trimming the tunnels to graft them together. Seen a post that did a high hump swap.. gonna go stare at the pictures before cutting mine. I'll be taking pictures and maybe a how to one day if the pictures turn out Clint |
Hey that's great. Did you notice Holley has the dimensions for the 302-20 oil pan posted. Looks promising lots of clearance under the front of the engine.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Man the point in a project when you just say wtf... we'll there and the mood passed...
Got the tunnel trimmed to fit https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/2695/R0waFg.jpg Used a silver sharpie in my case and outlined the panel with it. (No need for a picture) Placed 1" masking tape on the inside of the sharpie line https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/2141/WzhVAP.jpg Lay the panel on top, if I seen tape, I adjusted it so when I cut the inside tape line in would have about an inch from the new panel. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/6195/glmZn1.jpg Cut and sit back and realize what you just did.. https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/6115/E4qmEC.jpg Hump ready to be installed which ever method you like, rivet or weld https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img922/1478/M9w6W9.jpg Now, I like the pan clearance.... https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/5933/H4QFP5.jpg So being the floor panel and all, laying the panel on top and installing it probably won't show though the floor insulation and carpet, but I think trying to butt weld the panel flush will be too much effort and lots of fristration Now I just need to prep the two for final assembly but for now, it can be riveted together Clint |
Re: LT1 GenV swap
I am working on this same swap in my 71 c10 right now. I wound up using the dirty dingo brackets with a f-body ps pump. For the most part I like the way it all fits but hate Dirty Dingo carved their name in everything so blatantly. Wish holley kit was available. I don't have the BCM or Fuel pump module I had just planned on using a Walburo pump with vette filter regulator to supply fuel to the high pressure pump. Will this not work for the L83?

2010 Audi A3 2.0 turbo72 psi. The r8 spyder runs 87 psi

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Just checked holleys site. Estimated ship date is 2/7/17 on the pan. The $400 price tag makes it a better option than the vette pan as well.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
That filter looks like a great option for the LT but I checked the WIX filter on rock auto, part number 33814. This lists out all 3 ports on the filter as 5/16. Hope that is a typo, because otherwise I not see how that would be good as the fuel pump inlet is 3/8

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Do you have any more of the water pump adapters?

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Following along. I just picked up a L83/6L80 for my K10. I'm with you on the accessory brackets, either they are WAY too expensive or ugly. I'm deleting the vacuum pump as I already have hydroboost installed.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Do you have a part number or place where I can find the Fuel pump controller connector?

Re: LT1 GenV swap
I would be interested in the Module, pressure sensor, the connectors and seals and terminals. Possibly the E85 sensor. PM me please.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Like to round up some cash for the holley oil pan.. lt waterpump adapters 125 shipped.
Please pm me if interested. Thanks |
Re: LT1 GenV swap
Thanks 87chevy.com!
Great read and loads of info. I'm putting an L83/6L80 in my '82 Stepside. It is great to find all this info here! How is everything with your truck? Any news? Thanks again! P.S.: And by "I'm putting...". I mean. I am having it done! I don't have the skills, knowledge, tools or a place in which to do it... maybe some day :) |
Re: LT1 GenV swap
Going to offer the extra connectors I have for sale. Each connector comes with the required terminals, and seals with an extra terminal as a backup.
These are the only ones you need to get the L83 up and running aside from modding the engine harness. Fuel pump driver module , fuel pump, e85 sensor, fuel pressure, throttle pedal and obd 2 port. If there are more than a few interested, I can order more and subscribe and become a member and support the board once again. Thanks, Clint |
Re: LT1 GenV swap
Got a question for the mass' out there... is this a fuel regulator or fuel damper
https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img923/3081/LOHaoM.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/6659/yG0IYx.jpg https://imagizer.imageshack.com/img924/350/wOnzBX.jpg From the filters with regulators in them, this looks like it would be a regulator since the silver container, fuel filter, has an inlet from the pump, and 2 outs.... one to the top of the lid, and the other to this regulator/dampner... but has an outlet to drain right back into the bucket. If it has the fuel pump control module to pwm the pressure, is this a backup / fail-safe? Clint |
Re: LT1 GenV swap
I read somewhere that it has a pressure relief valve in the stock pumps. When you shut the engine down it relieves the pressure on the pump.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
Most of the pictures that look like the part in question is a regulator... a dampner only has the the center inlet... wonder if gmperformance would know. I still plan on running factory pump assembly.. just haven't made progress on the rings...
|
Re: LT1 GenV swap
And more searching revealed the ecu terminals, and most of the connector terminals in the harness.. gonna repair the one the first junk yard nipped off 2 sensors and make it good as new without splices and maybe just run that harness and sell the other harness that's not been damaged.

Re: LT1 GenV swap
How deep are you in the wiring? I'm trying to figure out the canbus. As far as I can tell there are 2 circuits needed, 1 for the FPCM and 1 for the trans. Sound right?

Sweet that the way I was gonna wire it. Did you put a resistor in it? Also, the brake pedal switch, are you using the 4 pin switch?
