I think they were about $165 or something. With the bezel. I found them on eBay.

After spending so much time on the firewall, I pretty much made up my mind that I could spend MONTHS getting it perfect and realizing that I can't do that, I went ahead and cleaned it all up, primed it and painted it.

I suppose we all get to the point where we know we aren't making a Ridler.... So get it done and make it look good.

One full coil plus 2" in the drop spindles should bring the nose down some.

That was pretty easy. Hand packing wheel bearings is not so fun.

And then I got lucky, my after market wheels that I had been using with a roller, also are after market enough to handle the disk brakes.

I didn't think they were going to fit, which really would have caused some problems because I wouldn't be able to put it back together until I bought my final wheels. So now I can. Which is awesome!!

So now that we have got her out of the clouds. And I think we will gain another inch or two when I put that motor back in.

And now the frame... After the install. Does my math not add up???

Re: My 63 Project

To get an accurate measurement, you're going to need to have the bed installed and be at close to your final weight on the rear suspension. I think you're going to be OK.

I am pretty happy with the look... and we shall see what the final looks like after we get the bed and some real tires and wheels.... I was worried about going too far with 4"....

Ok, so now I need some help.

How do I get the gas tank mounts out?? Obviously there are two bolts that come up from the bottom, but it looks like the mounts are spot welded to the rear of the cab.

McMurphy 01-23-2014 11:57 AM

Re: My 63 Project

I think they are spot welded to the floor as well... IIRC 66Farmer did the cleanest removal of those that I have seen on this site.

If you dont already have a spot weld cutter, you may want to get one.
