My 1989 GMC V2500 Suburban. 6.2 diesel. It had a "vegetable oil" kit on it, what a mess! I am removing and selling the kit. 4" block lift, new injector pump. Mediocre quality newer paint job. Rear A/C, 3rd row seat. I have big plans for it all. Best of all, CA smog exempt!!

Good to see guys are still working on the Burbs, I never get tired of seeing what other people have built.

My '88 Burb was also a weird one with rear AC but no 3rd seat option. I added the 3rd seat though, Burbs are meant to haul people! |

Here is my '87 V20 Suburban. Just finished up a re-hash of it. Dana 60 front with cross-over steering. Corporate 14bolt with a Detroit locker. Lower mileage tbi350 backed by a sm465 mated to a np205 transfer case. 6in lift sitting on 37" Toyos/Nittos.

Re: The first ever 73-91 Burb post your ride thread!
My 79 Burb had been beat before I ever saw it. It lasted two years, then the motor took a dump, and the rear is a screaming for attention. I took the 2 grand I had saved up, and bought this 78 instead.
Paint is darn near perfect. 6 inch lift, $1200 new tires and wheels, and runs like a dream. I do need to get the wipers to work, and the heater core replaced, but I dot my monies worth. http://i271.photobucket.com/albums/j...ps4bsryqgh.jpg |

Got mine about 9 months ago. I suspect it was parked for a little while because it had a bad distributor. Needed new seatbelts, new drivers seat, some work on the interior. Added keyless entry, remote start, some fog lights behind the grill, updated to electronic speedometer.
Would like to repair the little bit of rust it has, clean up the few bumps and scrapes and paint it. As it sits, its pretty ugly, but it was cheap and it's reliable. |

My 1976 GMC Suburban Sierra Classic 1500 2 wheel drive, 454ci, th400. Has a 14 bolt rear end, tow package, front and rear air conditioning, cruise, tilt wheel. Bought it with 30k miles on the rebuilt 454 and have only driven it about 500 miles. Thinking about lowering it, new wheel/tire combo and just driving it, its nice and drives really well.

cleaned up the new tires I bought for her, the others were dry rotted. The red LED digital gauge is for trans temp (700r4 swap). I replaced that one with a needle one now. The other is a tach. LED lighting for the cluster also.:ito:

Swapped out the Edelbrock 1406. It wasn't supplying enough air/fuel for the 454. '86 non cc Quadrajet off of an RV 7.4 is now in it's place with an adapter plate to the (Edelbrock c454) intake. The power steering filler neck is from a newer Trailblazer. Throttle/TV cable set up with $8 bracket. ;) Factory carbed air cleaner from another parted truck with hose to the front grill for forced air induction. It fits under the hood with about half an inch clearance:lol:

My 1983 GMC K2500 Suburban. 29,000 original miles currently, 350 bored 30 over, edelbrock aluminum heads and intake, comp cam roller rockers, headers, mild cam. TH400 tranny, GM 14 bolt rear, Dana 44 front, 4.10 gears with an NP208 transfer case. When I get done with college next year, I will be pulling the engine and most likely building a 383 stroker, but I've got some time to plan. I've had this truck since I got my learner's permit at 15 years old and it has been a blast building it with my father, lots of great memories. The old burban goes by "Clifford".
