Re: Low 72 progress pics...

Nathan,
I think you remember that I'll be building a '71 Blazer also. I'd like to have the header part # if the fitment is the same for my truck as for the '66.

How much is a "little pricey" for the a/c kit and will the p/s and alt pulleys be needed or just nice to complete the total look?
If you're a dealer, I'd most likely just buy it from you when I place the order for the suspension pieces.
You're to easy to deal with to go somewhere else for something you carry.

I can certainly see that there are no clearance issues with the valve covers and the brake booster. The truck that had the issues was an orange truck with some bad a$$ looking vavle covers for marine use, but looks aren't everything. Here's the link for the truck with the valve covers I'm talking about.

Some times these computers can be fun. I have been dealing with computer problems for a few years (I look at, I know it has a computer problem so I walk away for a year!) but that is finally solved. I just ordered a Painless "Perfect II" kit for my 93 vett LT1 because I had problems with the harness, chip, ECM and everyone (three companys) pointed fingers at each other . This should solove the problem and give me a few upgraded options as well.
Good luck with your and let us know how that first burn out goes!

Re: Low 72 progress pics...

The Computer issue should be resolved tomorrow and then there are a few odds and ends left like hood hinges, wheel wells, exhaust, plumbing and wiring the air ride, AC, and installing the seats and I should be rolling. I purchased a cowl hood and my girlfriend bought me a polished phantom grille, I cannot wait to see these installed.. Happy New Year everyone:ennyd:

Kyle,

It's been a while since I've been in the truck scene and a lot has changed since then.

What's a phantom grille?

I can't wait to see more pics. Got any of the grill?

Back at ya with the Happy New Year wishes!

Do you sell a motor wiring harness for a 95 LT1??

Re: Low 72 progress pics...

Kyle,

Thanks. I was wondering what you were going to do with your grill.
I've got a '71 and am not just overly crazy about the typical grills that are avalaible.

I had a tube grill on my '71 LWB I had in high school.

 Well, It was cool back in '81.

Most of the grills I've seen for the '71-72s remind me of that old tube grill and I was kinda wanting something different.

I like that one a lot better but still not sure what I'm going to do. What I would really like is the earlier '67-70 front end but my front fenders are nice so I'm not gonna go to the expense of switching everything out.

You could get a 69-70 grill and do a little custom work to it like ortegamotor did. You wouldn't have to change anything but the grill and surround.

Re: Low 72 progress pics...

I really don't want to hi-jack this thread with a bunch of grill questions.

Kyle's truck is way too cool for that, but I dont't know enough about the difference to see what has been modified. I think I know the earlier fenders (and GMC) are taller where the grill mounts. Was this early grill shortened somehow?
PM me if you want to go into detail. I'd love to see more pics also or a link to the thread where he talks about the modifications.

Finally running... not driving yet.:) In the meantime... here's some pics of the 'completed' dash. The bezel is out to have the middle gauge holes machined out so the tach. and speed-o sit in them like the rest of the gauges... currently the speed-o and tach. gauge bezels sit on top of the billet bezel, not inside like the rest of the gauges.

It's been a long haul with this blazer... Kyle's attitude and patience have been greatly appreciated.

Here's a few pics of the exhaust... I believe the mufflers are 40 series flowmasters (they came off Kyle's 62... it will have a pair of Spintechs). It's 2.5" the bends are all mandrels that have been mitered and TIG welded. He wanted the exit to be out the side in front of the wheels... had to be a little creative and do a loopdie-loop up and over the frame-rails. It turned out pretty nice... and sounds DANG GOOD! Maybe Kyle will post up an audio file?

I like that flat fender well look. It reminds me of the 65 style set up. I plan a very simular design for Slow build.
