Truck is going to look great!

You have the engine/tranny in the front, but essentially no weight in the rear. The bedwood, tailgate, bumper and cab should help bring the rear down. :D

Thanks!

I thought the same thing but I'm a fat-a!@%$ and I don't compress the springs that much. I've got to weigh as much as wood and a full tank of fuel

I can't figure out this camera we bought for the shop. There's got to be something set wrong

Re: Tri-Pro's "Project GPW"

The problem with the pic is there is low light in the shop. If you do not flash it, the shutter has to stay open much much longer resulting in blurry pics.

The longest open shutter you can hold is about a 1/15. Any lower than that and you need a tri-pod.

Burnham, set up a few lights or open the doors and get more light in.

Do you store it near the tequila? That could cause it to take "fuzzy" pics

Josh; yes you need it- in fact you can see where I cut that one for the roll pan w/license frame. We're developing this piece for the wood bed floor. We have it for the steel floor but not the wood. Ours came from Mar-K and is an EXCELLENT piece and I would not hesitate to recommend them to you. They're a site vendor here and all my experiences with them have been excellent.

It doesn't look like the firewall has the factory braces up the front, from the bottom up.... What's the fix for those?

You have to remove them to get the cab floor up into location, since the cowl was getting replaced, it was just easier. Will mount them up later, the builder is alittle slow

Here's a pic of Jon's headers, sweet. I think he said they were off a passenger car, they seem to have the rite fit, higher up in the frame, now he can run his exhaust along the frame rails. For all you guys dragging metal;)

Thanks Jim- I need to set my laptop back up and get pics of the camera. Today I installed the upper part of the rear shock relocation kit and also got the front cross back on the truck.

The headers are another set of Thorleys for GM passenger cars. They're mid-length and fit perfect. There's good clearance on the mounts, frame, etc. and I can't see a reason NOT to use these on lowered trucks.

Sounds like you were busy while I wasn't there. Dang parts venders, things never fit as advertised:haha:

Maybe I should stay away more often, you'll get something done and we won't BS as much LOL

Re: Tri-Pro's "Project GPW"

This morning I installed the Early Classic super track bar, the lower shock relocation mounts, 6" lowering springs and reinstalled the shocks.

If you're an idiot like me read (or should I say "Heed") the part of the directions that says to jack the frame to take the weight off. While bracing myself by holding the top of the axle tube I reached under and dropped the nuts off the "U" bolt......apparently that's not too bright. "Frame, axle tube....axle tube, frame". It smarts. Fortunately the powder coating kept it from dropping slowly as the nuts came off and broke free all at once dropping the frame in one fell swoop.

It looks like it's going to be a nice truck, and a nice way to remember a friend. I'm sorry if I missed it, but what are you planning on doing with the truck once it's finished?

Anyhow, I hope that everyone remembers that there is going to be an additional 800 - 900 lbs put back on there once the cab, seat, gas tank, steering column, tailgate, and bed floor are installed, pushing the back end down even further. That may be too much of a drop. Just a thought to consider, if it hasn't been yet.

Thanks! We'll take it to "Cruise-Ins" etc.

It's only a 6" drop in the rear and 4 1/2" in the front. I will have to c-notch the frame but the kit is not here yet.
