Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
that blazer looks like its in great shape!
|
Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
why didnt you lower the back down some? so its not siting allwerid?
|
Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
the ground its sitting on is angled some, but yes it has a rake 2 the stance do 2 the fact that front tires are 26.5 tall and the rear are 29.5 tall and thats how i had 2 set the rear up 2 fit my suspension without hacking up my floor and using a stock frame. The front is lowered 4.5 also and i still have massive header clearance, the roads up here are brutall and full of potholes.
|
Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
tub the back out and lower it down in the back (:
with the motor in its going to drop the front down even more |
Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
I love it , good job
|
Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
badass your blind i guess. this thing is tubbed and still uses the stock rear floor, which im keeping. the rears can fit up to 20 wide tires. this isnt some air bagged lowrider tucking dubbs and scrapping. This blazer is ment to be driven and dragraced at low ten or high nines. The engine is installed and its a 598 bbc with over 800hp on 1 carb. there are many pics on here 2 see the tubs, floor, frame, motor, and suspension. please take the time ,to look them over and then have something educated from which to contribute.

Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
what front springs?
you could probably get the front in the air with some stockers but.... it wouldnt be a true hotrod without rake :D |

no side trim !!!!!!! lol i shaved it and only put the trim in the rear 2 balance out the front tim. I do have sport mirrors locks and door handles. I have been busy piling up parts for my 72 shortbed (4 bolt 454,049 heads,th400,drop spindles, and the 72 front clip off of my blazer- the pickup was a gmc, but those things are ugly. here is a pic of the shrtbd. You guys have a good weekend

Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
I just spent a grip on the ignition system. a pro billet msd,msd digital 7 plus , hv2 coil, and moroso ultra 40 wires. as soon as it arrives, i will plumb up the magnastar 500 fuel system and wire the ignition up. I think i should be making noise around the 18th on may and we post a video on here for you guyz to enjoy. thanks all

Where are you going to mount the digital 7 box? Ive got the same unit and found a thread on the pro-touring site where they mount it inside the glove box. They use a glove box liner made out of sheet aluminum thats open on both ends for ventilation... thinking that direction for my Jimmy. Also, have you decided on aluminum tubing or braided line to run from your fuel pump to your pressure regulator and from regulator (return bypass) to tank? thnx, Tom |
Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
Im going to make a removable mounting plate up under dash, since i have nothing behind it. My pump has a bypass in the pump fixture next to the outlet, and I will be running parker 301LT #10 black hydraulic hose up to the regulator in the engine bay. I also fabricated a 37 gallon aluminum cell and will mount it in the rear of tub behind the cage on the floor. My math says this should give me a 190 mile range. I plan on driving the 45 miles to the track, racing, and driving home !!! lol at least thats the plan
|
Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
Have you checked with the tech guys to see if they will let you run that fuel cell on the inside of your truck? Just a thought.
|
Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
I dont think you have noticed that everything on this truck has been thought out and built to meet the regs. We have an IHRA track and it says that the cell must have a roll over valve and be vented outside of the vehicle. the rear mounted battery is the same way, vented outside and in a sealed box. So whats up with yours ? got any pics or threads going

Re: Prostreet / Dragrace 1972 blazer
VERY NICE Blazer! Amazing transformation that you have made with it.
