Re: AD Truck Project
We got the gmc off the trailer this weekend. It was pretty redneck, but we got it done with no injuries lol. I opened the door and found 6 head light rings, the transmission, valve cover, and about 20 gallons of mouse crap. Along with cab corners, it will at least need a floor patch on the drivers side. Now, I just need a large chunk of money to get started on it. I did not get the serial to run, because I was tired and did not want to lay in mouse crap if I could help it. Next trip down to my folks, I hope to get the gauges out of it, so I can start working on those up here. I took a pic of the identification plate, and will try to look at it photoshop and see if I can read it.
I have pics, but do not think I am going to post just how redneck it got yesterday. I do have a good side photo of the truck I may photoshop some wheels under. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Oh come on man we all have a bit of redneck in us!
|
Re: AD Truck Project
If you can unload it with 2 kids and a 4x4, it's fine! My boys and I have done that a time or two.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
We used two jacks and a bunch of various items. We were trying not to tear it up since it was just barely laying on the fenders and running boards.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
you had jacks??? I usually just end up with various items and a short rope. Post some pics, we love to see mouse turds.

Yeah, big spender! Jacks. What's next, a come along? |
Re: AD Truck Project
Wood, a barrel, a small step from the back door of a trailer house, some tires and rims lol.
I bet the people on this forum could look at a rat turd and tell me what variety of rat it came from and how long it had been there. |
Re: AD Truck Project
Depends on what type of rat we're talking about. I'm not too knowledgeable on rats in the Middle East, but I can tell you anything about ones in our hemisphere.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Funny. I just bought some parts from a guy on Stovebolt and he had stuff ALL over his concrete in front of his garage. He had taken the bottom door plate off and the doors were full of rat poo about 1/2 way up! I'm not sure of the breed of rat but they had plenty of STINK to them!!
In my opinion, the best rat turd is a green one. That means it has been eating the poison treats I've been leaving him and he'll be done poopin soon!! |
Re: AD Truck Project
I knew this was the place to go for good information. Trucks, rats, poop, it is all good.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
I thought this was a truck thread. I had no idea you were getting me involved in rat poop research. Man, I have to start watching who I hang with these days!!!
|
Re: AD Truck Project
I think ANY time you bust open one of these old trucks, you get rat poop research! Sometimes I wonder, HOW do they get THERE?!?
|
Re: AD Truck Project
|
Re: AD Truck Project
:haha:
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Dan makes my point exactly. There has not been many of this threads on AD truck that did not start with... I found x amount of x poop in my x truck.
Perf... I will teach you about pooh in trucks and you can teach me about not warm enough meatloaf. :) |
Re: AD Truck Project
If your meatloaf isn't warm enough, you don't have enough ketchup on your sammich!
|
Re: AD Truck Project
See, with our great minds, we have solved your meatloaf problem! You can go back to that one place now.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
You have much to learn about the meatloaf young grasshopper. You see the flowers yet you smell not the fragrance of spring. In your lack of attention you have failed to understand the difference between the temperature of the meatloaf and the degree to which it has been "cooked". It is desirable to eat a cold meatloaf sammich provided that one has tuned himself in harmony with nature and fully cooked the meatloaf first. Much you have yet to learn about the meatload grasshopper. Return your focus to the rat poop.

Re: AD Truck Project
Good stuff... lol

Re: AD Truck Project
I'll take a meatloaf sammich over a 22# cat ANY day. I've got 10# weiner dogs and they don't mess with my 12# cats either!!
|
Re: AD Truck Project
Great. Now it's raining cats and dogs in here.
|
Re: AD Truck Project
It is snowing here, has been off and on for the last 3 days. Not sticking but temps are hovering around mid 30's during the day. When it gets a little warmer is rains. Good excuse to hide in the garage, I was going to the swap meet at Firebird tomorrow but is looking iffy.
