no we do not. each plant ran there own vin number system . each plant had there last number

Just picked up another Atlanta built '66 today. VIN C1446A124256. On a side note, both of my Atlanta trucks have fawn firewalls.

Yes that is a st louis truck made feb 1966. I have a list that has production month breakdowns . From a man that access to gm records very hard to get.

On the 66' I purchased last week the "protecto plate" stated that it was sold on 10-12-65 and is c1446z105963.

The 66' "Concrete Truck" is c1446z161104. :chevy:

Yelmer, any chance you could run 4C144A133280? I know that it's an Atlanta built truck and was sold in Buford, GA on August 22, 1964, but have always wondered about when it was built.

c1446z161104 is made in fremont ca in april of 66 the other c1446z105963 was built in fremont in sept 65

My '66's. C1546Z156964 and C2546Z171566. Can you confirm that the C10 was assembled on the first day of April production (Friday the 1st). I seem to remember that March production ended just a few numbers ahead of mine. Great info Yelmer, thanks for providing it to us.

Thanks so much Yelmer. Yes, it is a 1964 truck, so a June 1964 build sounds right. I have the original bill of sale dated August 22, 1964.

I think production started in sept 66 they could have made them in aug. but called them sept built trucks but in 65 the started in aug

Cool thread mine is a 66 long bed fleet side not sure how to read the number think it is a Fremont which makes sense as I'm second owner and truck was originally sold in Oregon, can some one help with more info

Yelmer thank you for this thread you have going very cool to know my truck was built 6 hours from where I live the same year and month I was born and and is a true California truck with the exception of only being sold in Oregon but has been a California truck for 47 years
