Great build. The more pics, the better :D

The qa1 kit looks great. But I've heard some complaints on nastyz28 that the coilover mounts are breaking. I'm just wondering if this is the case. I've been considering this kit with ridetech hq coilovers. But those stories have me reconsidering and going with a full ridetech kit. I guess I'm just wondering if anyone has heard anything on these fairly new qa1 systems for the trucks

Coil-over mounts breaking? We've had zero reports of anything like that. I was unable to find anything on nastyz28 about this. Please PM me a link if you have one.
Since everyone loves pictures, here are some from the Hot Rod Power Tour. QA1 had three trucks doing the long haul this year. So much fun! |
Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)
I have had this same suspension on my '66 for a couple of months with ZERO issues. It's the best coil over suspension I've ever used by fay!

Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)
It was on nastyz28. But I can't find it. Been several months since I've read it but a guy was replacing his qa1 arms with another company because his coilover mount on the arm broke twice.
Sorry not meaning to offend just curious if this was a reoccurring situation or something that has been addressed or some Internet prune who likes to complain about everything. |
Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)

Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)
Quick question, I noticed Summit Racing stocks 3 front kits and the difference is spring rates. The choices are 650, 750, and 850, is there a spring rate that is suggested for a small block (350) truck or is it personal preference? How about the rear, is there a suggested pring rate for a swb step side?
|
Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)
Buck,
Not to butt in, but I just got through with the tech reps at QA1. they recommended the 750 pound springs for the front and the 200 pound springs for the rear. My 69 is a SWB Fleet side and running a 383 small block. The tech I talked to was Bill Foley. Wally |

Re: Project: Fun Daily Driver (Plus New QA1 Coil-Over Suspension!!!)
Truck looks GREAT! I read through your build and have a couple questions. Are you using the Wilwood spindle? What are the specs on your tire and wheel setup? And how do feel the ride quality is on the coilovers vs a regular coil/spindle drop? Thanks
