Re: 1971 K/20 with 10,104 original miles
Joe
Your truck came from the factory with that chrome front bumper included in the Z62 package. The Z62 Custom/comfort pkg included the chrome upgrade "front only" bumper along with the stainless trim around windshield, back glass, and the chrome vent wings, and the "Deluxe" badge under Custom script. I don't have my Chevrolet sales ordering albums handy but I 100% know for a fact this information is correct for 1971 and 1972. If you can read the line build sheet I believe it will also indicate the frt bumper line build box as "ch" or something like that. |

Re: 1971 K/20 with 10,104 original miles
Hey Mark, Custom Deluxe trucks in 71-72 didn’t not come with a chrome front bumper as standard. The code on my built sheet matched another built sheet on a truck I have with a white bumper. I have another one with a chrome bumper listed, but I can’t find where I put the build sheet. It’s here somewhere, I’ll find it and look at the code.

Joe you need to drive the 80 for 604 miles first, then never take them off the trailer:)

This truck had 58,000 original miles, and we bought it from the original owners estate. I did not have a chrome front bumper.

With the chrome around the windshield and rear glass, the chrome bumper sure looks like it should be there. Gives it a touch of class.

Here’s an update on the bumpers. This truck didn’t come with a chrome front bumper from the factory. It was added in 1999 from my understanding. I was able to buy the original front and factory rear painted white bumpers from my old 2,000 mile blue short bed truck. I had to have the correct white front bumper on this truck.

Re: 1971 K/20 with 10,104 original miles
Joe
Can I impose upon you to please shoot some close up detail of the engine bay fender setup? Specificly, the factory placement of the fuse link blocks, washer bottle on passenger side and relay on driver's side and holes. I am at a point of after fire paint for hood and fenders but I know I have some old holes that are not correct. May as well spend a hour and weld and fill while I'm at it. I see the factory holes are still on the driver fender for the washer relocation. The hose route in you first picture was a surprise. I'm still not 100% sure how the relay was mounted. Thank you very much |
