Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

OK, so I got back on the engine cover deal. Decided to go ahead and use the old shipping box. First I cut it about in half then cut it in the rear for engine cover clearance. I mounted it using just some angle iron I had laying around. Turned out looking better then just the engine cover. Should also make a good little seat. Also picked up a new toy up at the Pigeon Forge show.

Looking good.

That's a lot of wood on top of the engine and I can't remember if you covered it before, but any concern about heat or do you get enough flow from underneath?

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

I took about a 4 hour drive today and I think I'm OK as far as the heat issue is concerned. I felt the cover during gas and food stops and could feel no increase in temp. There is a lot of room for air to move around under the truck. My theory is the box builds a small amount of air pressure inside which allows the hotter new air to push past.....of course I just made that crap up, so take it for what it's worth, LOL. I had this cover on for about 40K miles. Took a look at the odmeter today and just tipped over 47K. Dang they add up fast!

So you are looking for a 1957 Shasta trailer and removing the tong and axle !!

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

No Solid, actually I just sold my '69 Frolic 12 footer. I had photoshopped it on the back of the COE but just didn't get a warm fuzzy feeling with the look. This will be removable and be basically just be for long road trips. Not a lot of extras inside, just a bed, small fridge, AC, heater, a small desk and chair and a few cabinets.

Thanks for posting the pictures of your ac installation. Seeing how your dash unit fit encouraged me to go ahead and buy one. I'm happy with the way it looks and look forward to riding next summer in comfort!

Re: Loadmaster '47 COE

Your welcome Katrina, very happy with mine. Output is great at 40 degrees. Only issue is it will put a chill on the right nee. Not a bad problem to have. You using a aftermarket compressor or factory?
