Nice truck.
I thought that the 05, and 06 have the same front end, what is the story with the front clip?

The 1/2-ton '05 trucks had the same grille and hood as all the '03-'04 trucks.

The 2500 and 3500 '05 silverados share the hood and grille that all the '06 (and '07 classic) trucks had.

On 1500's I thought and only can find info that was 99-02, then 03-06 and in 07 you could find the new body style or the 06 body style. Do you have a pictures to show me. Thanks I like learning.

Lolife99 is correct.

The first picture is how an 05 3/4 or 1 ton would look, the second picture is an 05 1/2 ton.

The Grille and hood design from the first pic is from ALL 3/4 & 1-tons from 2005 - 2007 (classic), but only 1/2 tons in 06 & 07 (classic) were like this.

The second design is on all trucks in 03 & 04, but only on half tons in '05.

Looks sharp, needs shackles in the rear to bring it down level IMO. Is that a dent in the rear door or a reflection?

My "new to me" project.

2003 1500HD CCSB, 6.0L/4L80E, fully loaded with every option for 2003, 6" fabtech, 3" body, 36x15.50x20 MTZs, 20x10 KMC revolvers, weather tech mats, command start, chrome lower valance, roll top cover, spray in bed liner, and that is about it.

http://i152.photobucket.com/albums/s...ps0f89ff78.jpg

Unfortunatley, the local lift laws are hitting hard and a complete makover is in progress as wel speak. Not happy! 36's and revlolvers are sold, 3" drop all around (total of 6" with factory skinny's on it...and ugly!) but passes local laws now. Deleted the bedrails, roll top cover, stripping, and depending on what size rim/tire I go with I might even pull the body lift. Sad, but being my daily driver I need this thing to be functional and law abiding to a certain level. Also deleted the bed caps since this pic but...cut and polished at this point just waiting to change a bunch of stuff yet. Making a HUGE order here in the next few weeks.....Going in Thursday to get new pro comp soft ride 5.5" rear springs installed to get rid of the blocks all together and level it out. Sitting an inch low in the rear right now...to much for me. I like level or .5" high in the back.

I like that big truck, Devillusion!

thanks, JB!

Good eye, GC! that is a dent! there is also some hail damage, mainly on the hood. I plan to put a cowl hood on, get the hail damage repaired by m buddy's bodyshop, and drop the rear. The ligt damage made a HUGE difference in price, and a 2wd 1500 cc is hard to find around here. i had to drive 3 hours to get that one. I is mechanically perfect, so i will wait on the other stuff until I sell the lifted F150 its replacing.

I would skip the cowl hood, and find a 01-02 Chevrolet 2500HD/3500 hood, all you have to do is trace and cut around where the GMC headlights "bulge" into the hood. Leave just a bit of extra material and bend it over into a seam, or just weld the seam. Looks much cleaner than a cowl hood on this body style truck, and it will be something that very few others will have. Just my opinion, of course it's your truck, but the one off factor of a HD hood on a GMC is very cool, and you will likely come out cheaper than a cowl hood.

Cool idea! any pics of one like that? i did find a cowl hood on Cl for $200, but haven't checked it out yet.

The first that comes to mind is Cornell's 2007 GMC. It has the cut 2001-2002 HD hood. Compare it to the stock HD hood on my 2001 posted above, and the low profile stock hood on your GMC. It's very subtle, but gives it a more muscular look.

That's really slick! And when I say "that" I mean both the hood and the truck. You would never know that hood wasn't original!

Here is the 2004 2500HD 4x4 Crew Cab. Ordered it new back when I was married to the doctor. 8.1L/496 cid Big Block backed up by the Allison transmission. LT package loaded with all the goodies and rear seat DVD for the daughters (no sunroof...couldn't get DVD and sunroof at same time). Volant intake, chipped and 285 BFG AT's complete the package.

This truck was my daily driver until two years ago. Averaged right around 10.6 MPG overall, sometimes as high as 12.5 MPG highway. Just over 100k on her today. New license plates read "BG BLOK" :)

Getting rid of my 90 Sierra ST, because I found this one while I was searching for a 3/4 ton to tow my trailer. This 2001 Sierra C3 is supposed to be able to tow 8000 pounds, but where I need to go I sometimes need 4 wheel low, so as soon as the ST sells, I'll be looking for a 3/4 ton again. I seem to be drawn to the rare trucks. It is missing the tonneau cover and the plastic 3 piece Vortec engine cover but otherwise is complete. Everything works except the viscous coupler (I think). The transfer case was pretty much dry since it had the infamous pin hole caused by the chain rubbing. Fixed that for now, but if the coupler is toast, I will eventually replace or rebuild the transfer case. I am hoping to keep this truck, even though that's what I said about the ST.
