Thanks.
I always planned on 2 coats and may do 3 just because its the frame.
I've read the longer this paint sits the tougher it will get.

I don't know what they have in it but it seems to work O.K.

Thanks.
Just load her up and drop it off. I have to kill some time waiting for the first coat to cure all the way through.

Well I finally made a little progress on the truck.
Got the frame cleaned then primed and the first coat of paint on it.
I used Rustoleum "Hammered Black" in a quart can which really looks like a very dark grey when it is applied.
This kind of annoyed me as I used a rattle can on some of the small parts and it is a little darker.
The other thing that is annoying is the window for a second coat. If you don't get it on in under 4 hours you need to wait 7 days because of the way this stuff dries.
It looks O.K. in the pics but definitely needs another coat.

Kim,

Did you use this one?

That's it.
I'm going to use a small roller for the second coat to see if it makes it any easier.

The Holidays slowed me down quite a bit.
I hope to get the frame put together in the coming weeks.
I'm waiting on new ball joints as the ones I had sitting on my shelf for it turned out to be the wrong ones.
The place I ordered them from is working on getting me the replacements.

It's been a couple weeks now so I'm getting a little antsy.
I broke down and sent some of the suspension parts out for powder coating.
I'll post pics when I get a chance.

I had them done in a metallic silver. It's a two part finish with a clear on top.
The rattle can Rustoleum was to delicate and the paint I used on the frame looked terrible on these parts.
Here's a couple pics of one of the A-arms.
I did all the brackets and 4-link connectors.

There must be one in your area that's willing to fit in a small job.
