I received my new belts today. These things are nice. Jeff Heffler's Pro 1 builds some nice stuff. |

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds I'm getting rid of an eyesore that I've been sick of for sometime. I finally found a screw on fuel cell cap without any branding on it. I'm going to be busy today but hopefully I can get the cap and the belts done tomorrow. |

https://hosting.photobucket.com/imag...080&fit=bounds Well I got the fuel cell done yesterday. I decided I wanted to clean up the vent and return lines also. The vent line was simple it's just a fitting with a nut on the bottom and two nylon washers. The return however is a fitting with tube welded on it. At first I started trying to strip the color off the fitting without removing it. Then decided to remove it. I put a wrench on it and it busted right loose. Oops it broke in half lol. It wasn't any big deal though the other half isn't going anywhere. I also wanted to get rid of the ugly discolored nylon washer on top. I went digging in the bolt pile and found some shiny aluminum washers I had kept from whatever it was. I spent an hour or so cleaning up the top of the cell. Then put it all back together. |

My friend Cory showed up about the time I was putting it together which was a good thing. I needed three hand to do it. He also helped me do the belts . I always need a diver to change them. Anyhow here is the finished product. All will be good as long as I have no leaks. |
Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Looks good, I like that, might have to look into one for my fuel cell.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
Well I got back from Houston last night. I went down Thursday and just spent the day getting ready and visiting with my racer friends. We had a paid test and tune Friday morning until 3pm and then went into our first official time trial. The truck was horrible! It was sideways in the burnouts and the 60ft was all over the place. After we got done I decided to make a big 4-link adjustment. Without any scales you don't know the weights but I had to do something. I took the anti-roll loose and loosened up the top bar on the 4-link. I got in the seat and had Ken turn it till it was dead neutral with me in the seat. Then I got back there and put some pre-load in it and tightened the bar down where I guessed might work. Then I got back in the seat and Ken set my anti-roll. We had two more time trials Saturday morning and first round that afternoon. The truck did better after the adjustments and the 60fts were more predictable. I made it through first round Saturday afternoon so that was an accomplishment. lol Friday we had a tail wind all day but Saturday it was a 15 mph headwind. Everybody was lost and I lost a full tenth and 5mph from the wind change. Sunday morning it was cool and the wind changed again for the better. I won a close double break out second round. Third round my opponent was a little off the index and slowed down with them and took .005 of stripe at the finish line for the win. Fourth round I got treed .008 to.017 and gave up the stripe by .01 for the loss. He was 10.906 to my 10.909 so there wasn't enough room for me to win if I had have taken the stripe. All in all I had a good weekend. I may be going to St Louis in two weeks but I'll have to wait and make a decision on that next week.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
This is a Facebook live my Daughter filmed of second round. I don't ever get to see it from this view. Some of you may understand the reason why I love this type of racing .https://www.facebook.com/jamie.nelso...3262243691284/

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
I don't do Facebook so I didn't know you had to be logged in to Facebook to see it. Sorry about that. Those of you that do Facebook can see it though.

She put the 4th round on Youtube here it is. You can see my frontend drop at the end. I was ahead of him but gave it back by .0127. It didn't matter anyway I would have broken out ifI took the stripe.

Re: Ok Boys and Girls it's Storytime
I was so tired Monday morning I got my rounds confused. Jimmy Denham lit the red light 3rd round on me. He was -.003 on the tree to my .013 we both ran it out the backdoor. He was 10.882 @ 131. I was 10.884 @ 154. My Daughter got excited and messed up the video a little but I like it. It's another Facebook deal watch it if you can.
