Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Hey bro it will show. Your not the only one that it happens to, it happened to me also in June. They found them, it caused me stress I didn't need. It will work out I'm sure!! Looking good.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Yeah, it will show up..
Just makes me sick to my stomach. Maybe the label just came off or something. Nothing Eric did wrong, but they won't allow me to initiate the search for it. I'll work it out with Eric, maybe they'll find it. If not, I'll just get another one. (I just bought two wheels so far btw.) I'm going to sleep with the other one tonight I think. Hug it and squeeze it. I hope the wife doesn't mind. |
Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
I had the same thing happen with the wheels 67cheby has now (on their way to me a few years ago)....except they had all four....lost one, and damaged one.
The funny thing is, I saved a search on ebay for 22" billet rims and one day it popped up from an unclaimed freight company...bought it back for 75 plus shipping (which was good because the seller pocketed the claim money) Check chicago area unclaimed freight companies...also call back and remind them they will be paying 1000 and see if they will do a better search for it... Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
It looks like my wheel may have gotten sent back to California by mistake (?) but has since been shipped back to me. Estimated delivery 9/27.
It's like your daughter coming home late from the prom. Why can't they loose the $10 packages? Stuff happens I guess .. it seems this type of thing follows me around though. I'm just glad it's not lost. |
Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Have faith Chad...Sometimes things have a way to work themselves out. glad to read that it is on it's way to you..

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
I'm getting really attached to this truck. I have bought and sold a bunch of cars in my life but only really attached to some of them. I cried like a little girl when I sold my Hugger Orange 69 Camaro. There's just something about this old truck. I felt it the day I walked up to it in the big city of Nintey Six, SC. I knew it would get me home if I'd only just buy it and bring it home.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
I'm glad they found it. I used to have a client that had lications throughout the US and I had to send pc's and monitors to them. UPS never lost one but scared me with late deliveries enough times I went to FEDEX. Glad they came through again.
I know exactly what you mean about becoming attached to these rascals. I need to thin the herd and can't decide which one needs to go. US Tom is definitely on the list but with the new paint its looking killer. I need to seek help. Posted via Mobile Device |

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
I have never fallen in love with a vehicle or a motorcycle but the current c10 I have there is no money that could buy it from me and I tell you that about ten days ago I had another member offered me enough money for me to think about it for a couple of days but needles to say the money would not make a difference in my life but not having this bucket in my garage would have made a huge difference.

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Al, I agree 100% .. the bags and Billets took your truck WAY up into another level. It was awesome before, .. but now, it's difficult to describe with words brother. If mine turns out half as nice, I'm a happy man.
If my GMC was bagged I would do 40 series tires on these wheels but without a notch and 6.5" rear drop I'm going to make some modifications to my bed wood and felt the inner fenders a bit to allow me about 5.85"BS on the rear and 45s. I like a bit more sidewall than 40's .. just personal taste. 295/45/20 - 255/25.4*.45 = 5.22" sidewall 295/40/20 - 255/25.4*.40 = 4.64" sidewall I kinda wish there was something in between, but honestly I just prefer the look of the 45's. Even if I have to tweak the bed wood a little on the inside edge. My wheels are 6" BS (late rear end housing) so I may need a thin spacer to make them work but I'd rather fix 6" BS than a 5"BS. :D I think I can do it and stay as low as possible with 45s. your thoughts? Al, do you have any pictures of your truck with Coys, 295/45 and 5.5" BS -- Specifically the inside of the tire to the bedside? |
Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Well as you guys no ups lost the wheel. I have done everything on my end I can and will do everything I can to help find it. I really am sorry for this and I know no one on here is mad but I feel bad. I will help anyway I can. I will flip if there is any damage to that wheel. I am done with ups. I sent a column out two weeks ago and the destroyed it. I am sick of there crappy work. I will use FedEx from now on. Thanks and again I am sorry

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
So you could have gone a bit lower and 'tucked' this tire with 5.5" BS ? Or were your wheels 5" BS? Do you remember?
On the side view it looks like the truck would have gone lower without rubbing (?) My wheels will have 6" BS, so maybe I could still tuck the 45 ? |
Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
I used a 295/40-20 Yokohama Parada on 5.5bs Coy's C5 20x10 on my '72 2wd Blazer with a 'late' axle (same axle/tub dimensions as a truck), around a 6" drop and had no rubbing issues whatsoever. Maybe 1/2 of clearance to the tubs inside. You will likely need a little bit of a spacer to clear...

Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
I'm making my own bedwood, and the bed is apart too so maybe I could add a little bit of the felt like stuff they used when mounting gas tanks under the straps(?) and neatly cut it so it would fit between the bedsides and the wheel tubs, and maybe move them over 1/8 or so? Then adjust the bed wood to gain a little bit of room if needed.
I'm definitely going to measure it before I mount the 45's on my wheels. I may have to re-think it. Is there such a thing as 305/40/20 ? - 4.803" sidewall would put me somewhere in the middle (?) |

It'll be even worse when I get rims for my shop truck (in the future) starting at a $500 investment once I sell off the extra rims that came with the truck....although I'm giving myself around 1500 max for wheels and tires....but the 6 lug steelies will do for now ;) Posted via Mobile Device |
Re: Project Grande Slam: Coley's Hot Rod Shop
Chad I hope everything works out and they find your wheel. I will be shipping the Coys I sold on Monday but will be using fed ex for sure, besides they have better rates.
You had me laughing, my truck cost $500 to start and I'll have over $3000 in wheels and tires when all is said and done  Posted via Mobile Device |
