D rod, you're supposed to grind it smooth before taking pics. When you smooth it out it shines so bright and you can't tell what it really looks like. That's my trick anyway. Shine it up and re-post it and I bet you get compliments. Give it a shot.

Thats the truth huh. The only reason I took the picture was because I was so happy I found out how to switch my camera to macro. I was the only thing to take a picture of. I'm not to worried it all grinds down and you never see it anyway. I knew I was going to hear about it. I love the close up though. It makes it look twice as ugly as it really is.Heres what it looked like after I cleaned it up. I wished. http://photos-h.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos..._5823723_n.jpg

Use Spearmint Bubble Gum. It gives a smoother look when welding. :haha: Seriously you are doing a great job. Dave don't listen to anyone. ;)
And Gage keep the digs coming. It keeps us all on the ball.

Finished the floor and sides. Started beating on my cab supports with a hammer and screw driver. More rust. Ordered some cab supports. Looks like I'll have plenty to do this winter.:uhmk: Did I say this truck had no rust?:banghead: Anybody use the slip over cab supports?

everyone should be able to weld eventually if they try and know wat to do when surtan things happen tig welding should sound like sissling bacon in a frying pan when its cracling and its too high power or too little wirefeed hissing is to low power to big wirefeed when you set the balance on a couple of scraps youre usually set for the rest of the truck , just keep the small spot blasts around the piece all about the same time each time to get a nice even bead around the piece the welder i used actually had a timer to give spotwelds and it worked verry nice

Thanks for the info Wata. I don't have gas yet.I've been using more heat when I can it seems to be working better.;)

my sister had one like that she called it the slangword for antisocial in the netherlands
it was funny when she had to call for him from across the field .... depending on its caracter redneck might be a nice name for the dog and prolly would have about the same effect as the name my sister gave her dog .

I had a good working Queensland Heeler cowdog piss off a goat and the goat turned and chased the dog. Goat cornered the dog and went to hooking with the horns. The dog finally got away . The dog never forgot and would not work a goat or sheep after that!! Goats do NOT like dogs!

My last dog got in the goat house, one of the goats jumped up on the wall about 4 feet high came down and nailed that dog in the ribs. He went down hard could'nt breath for about minute got up and ran the hell out of there.
