I'm running a vintage air AC system and yes I have already cut the holes for the vents. Here is a pic you can see the vents that are installed. The controller is the oval Vinatge air.

Got alot done today. Sdailey came over and helped set the cab on the frame and hang the doors. I've been waiting for this moment for a long time. Now what do I do LOL.

Christ man! you have done more this week than I have managed this year. That is looking great..... now I see a 3000 mile break-in cruise so you can see the burb without snow, throw some brats on the fire and, clank a couple long necks to toast a job well done.

ok that may be a bit of a stretch but seriously NICE job.

Today I also worked on the brake booster assy. For now the only thing that got painted is the booster bracket. The booster will be the same color as the roof.

Before cleaning

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC09746.jpg

This the etch primer that I used.

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC09750.jpg

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC09752.jpg

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC09755.jpg

Started too mount this adapter bracket and noticed all of the holes behind it. Only one of these counter sunk screws goes into a nutplate. It looks like I have to put a nut on the other two. I don't remember alll of this from two years ago. I took pics of the outside, but not the inside. Does that sound right or am I missing something? I've got my brake pedal hanger installed.

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...s/DSC09768.jpg

Centered up the trans and drilled and mounted the crossmember

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...y/DSC09756.jpg

Measured from the center crossmember

http://i606.photobucket.com/albums/t...y/DSC09758.jpg

I wonder why I have so much clearance from the distributor to the fire wall. I'm not complaning. I just figured it would have been closer.

I would come help you Alan, but I can"t work with white cotton gloves on...
How can you do all that work in one day and not get one finger print, smudge, grease spot or anything anywhere? Hell I can't open my beer without them little grease finger prints on the sides of the can.

Is the frame and the top of the cab the same color?

I'm amazed:metal: Very sharp work

Thanks Scott, it's all labor right now. I need to sell some stuff so I can afford more parts. But I have plenty to keep me busy for now.

Re: My 1965 build thread

Alan, you have the engine mounted in the front holes thus the clearance behind the engine. Pointing it out in case you want to change it, but it works for me. You mite run out of space at the radiator depending on your mounting location. I believe the factory had two ways of mounting the radator; mine is against the core support so I have no issues. Heads up!!

Re: My 1965 build thread

I tried mount our towers in the forward holes, but would have had to drill new holes in the cross member for it to work....is that how you did it Jeff?

protrash64 05-21-2009 11:13 AM

Re: My 1965 build thread

I dont remember Joe...too long ago. I know I slotted the holes a bit for some adjustment and I was careful to make sure the holes for the motor mount bolts stayed in the same relative width. Im wondering if I flipped them from side to side????? I'll have to look.:smoke:

....I cant see the frame to be sure, Joe. I know I wouldnt have been afraid to drill if it needed it:lol:. My truck is too low to get under it and look up into the X-member to know for sure. I'll find out eventually when I pull the engine for upgrades.

Man that does look nice. I remembered reading somewhere that the bumpers would not be chrome. Are they going to be orange or the same color as the frame/top of cab?

The towers are from CPP and that was the only place they would fall in and line up. I'll mock everything up like the radiator and fan and see where I'm at. It will be a while cause I don't have the parts yet.

Thanks man!! The bumpers and grill will be the gray color.

Today I sanded down the inner fenders, headlight mount panel, cowl side pieces and glove box door. I wasn't happy with the way they turned out so hopefully I will get them painted tomorrow.

What radiator and fan are you running. My motor is pushed up because of the SD raised crossmember. so I just need a little help on it!
