I also order 2 Rockford Fosgate 6.5" speakers to be installed on each side (comes pre-cut), I'll make up 2 quick disconnects incase I have to remove the console if needed.

Is that a high hump or a low hump? Also is it under the dash as far as it can go?

I believe I have the Hugh hump as it about 7-8" higher than the floor

You can push it back about another 2-4".

I really need a speaker location and I really need cup holders but I love having that open space.

I'm making the speakers wire leads with quick RCA disconnects so I can remove the box if needed

Installed some tie downs in the bed, straps would rub the sideboards when I used the tie downs on the outside of bed.

Making progress on the Vintage Air install. Pulled a vacuum on the system today to check for leaks prior to buttoning everything up. It held 29 inHg for hours. :metal:

Not super exciting, except to me! Finally did compression check, all 8 cylinders held at 150. Super happy about that, troubleshooting overheating and running rough/backfiring so glad to rule out compression. New spark plugs since the old ones out anyway. Passenger side rear plug had some oil on it but the compression was good so...
George still runs a little rough so tomorrow I will check timing.
Another thing I did was to finally track down a parasitic draw, thanks to instructions off YouTube I used a test lamp attached btwn battery Neg post and Neg cable, pulled fuses to see when the light goes out. Not a fuse, so started checking other inline fuses the PO had added. Finally tried the horn relay, that was it! Disconnected horn relay and light went out. Will check battery tomorrow morning, used to be if I kept battery connected overnight George woke up dead.
Also planning to switch out thermostat for the heck of it in case that was causing overheating.

So, to help me understand, you need a new horn relay? Interesting, wouldn't have thought about that as a source of draw.

Yes, probably drawing somewhere else like the horn button on steering wheel, I will have to track it down. all I know is when I unplugged the relay the light went out! Just happy to stop the draw

Got my power brake booster installed. Used booster off a 2002 S-10 truck with Captain Fabs bracket. All fit very well.

Of course. It was all laid out based upon seat clearance.

It's all back together and running/driving now.

Some custom tail light work there. What do you have in it? I had a '68 350/350 Skylark GS California for about 13 years that I sold awhile back. With my truck, I only needed one money pit. :waah: The guy I sold it to repainted it, put a vinyl top back on and added twin turbos. When I sold it, it needed about $10k to make it right (body work, paint, upholstery), and I just couldn't go there. I guess he didn't care about the money.

Yep, I wired them to function the way the factory should have. It has the original 310 Wildcat (300ci 2V) V8 in it with the ST-300 trans. Most of the work I've put into this one was to improve handling, braking, and just keep it as a clean "survivor" type car to cruise around in. I converted it over to power discs, QA1 coilovers at all four corners, sway bars, tubular rear lower control arms, and new bushings throughout. I ditched the points for a Pertronix Ignitor III inside the distributor, bumped up the timing a bit, and swapped out the fixed fan for a clutch fan. I also stuck a good stereo in it and cleaned up the interior.

Unfortunately all of the up-to-date photos are on my computer at home. These were taken mid-improvement.

build a little heat shield so I can stop putting my hand on the radiator when I open the hood...

Just scrap materials, but it kind of fits the build....

I didn't like the brake booster hose running across my valve cover. I wanted to keep the engine looking clean. So I made a steel line to run brake booster vacuum. I got a 3/8" steel line from O'reilly's and using a piece of wire made a pattern of the how I wanted to run the hose around valve cover. I then bent the line to fit. I removed all the paint from steel line with a wire brush on bench grinder. Then I dimpled the ends and polished it up with some rouge on polishing wheel. Routed it in and viola!

Test ran engine (Again) this past weekend and yesterday. Now that it’s all “dry” after new rear main seal - got the cab back on today. Using temporary breathers and radiator at the moment.

Yes, forgot to mention that thanks! I did cause it was just a steel line. That rust sneaks up quick!

One of the best things about having a white truck is it doesn't show tons of dirt...one of the best things of having an old truck that not much was done in ways of body and paint work is I can wash it and not worry about drying it. So today I washed it for the first time since it's been back on the road. Going to cars-n-coffee in the morning and had to clean old girl up some...to play with the Vettes and Porsches of the area. :D

:metal: Reason I ask is because my dad bought a car from a guy who had polished a whole lot of steel parts to a high shine before my dad bought it, but didn't put any clear on it. Even in southern California's desert, it looked pretty bad, pretty quick.

I made a shifter boot. This one has a cushion backed vinyl and it 's better at blocking the noise emanating from the hole in the floor than plain vinyl. I also put pipe wrap on the stick inside. :) Not easy to sew a cone when you have practically zero experience with a needle and thread but you can find dang near anything on YouTube.
