You have a filthy mouth! Always cracks me up that we can't type the town's name. At-water sounds so pleasant and pure but it has a t-w-a-t in the middle

Castle does have one. They have a good air museum, just to darn hot this time of the year.

I worked at Lockheed in '92 for a short time. U2, (believe it not, they were used even then, over Korea), F117A, and the YF-22 proposal/development.

Garsh. Papaswrench posted a fine piece of photography that only I commented on, then I followed with my little group, came back and it's the next page gone back to discussion on the plane so far, burying the rest of this page with these posts I missed. I assumed I made the last post on the page, which often few to none catch once the new page comes on. Time to catch up with the past:

That's a pretty nice looking cutter on the mooring. Westsail ???

I couldn't say on that. It is a fine sailing vessel. There are a few impressive sail boats as well as cabin cruisers. What you see is what I see from the point this 1915 Sears cedar cottage/cabin kit perched on an ancient 18' sand dune was built on. There is an osprey nest at deck level on the river side. The Chesapeake Bay is just to the south, which is where the US Naval Academy is located on the bay.

I only have this other picture on the 'puter right now. I'll get one looking out across the river and other boats in the cove.

To the left from their dock on the shore facing the river. Around the front side of the point. That's the corner of their dingy you see that they use to get to their moored boats

So fine a location south of "The City", as I recall it being called when I spent time up the north coast. I could see my old baby blue '63 Riviera parked in the drive of the "modern" home

I’m pretty sure they don’t want to encourage me.

I should have commented, at least, that I appreciated your humor. The thread I posted named "I spent the day with a stripper" came to mind immediately. It somehow amazingly went through w/o any overboard comments. No trouble.

I was thinking about when that little house was maybe built ,,and would give it a shot a 30ies or 40ies (just a guess mind ya)

And so I looked up terra cotta when first used and got this ::: Terracotta was first produced around 1400 BC in Mesopotamia and the Indus Valley,

On the west coast of Oregon where I worked on a many a house ,, there was never not terracotta .. so does it wear out Tim ?

Re: Random Photos ‘You took’

It doesn't really wear out. I supposed some tiles could erode if the outer glaze got chipped. I'd say your guess is a good one. I'm pretty sure it's not from the 1300s . I have seen very few Spanish influence houses like that in MD. I can think of three and I don't think the other two had full terra cotta roofs. It seems some gas stations used them way back when. I think of Santa Barbara when I think of terra cotta in the USA. It's a building code in at least a certain area, even the telephone booths had it when I was there in the '70s

One look at that structure and I knew it was something special. A very impressive building for frontier times.

Looks like you are in a good place doing a good thing.

Our ATHS chapter had our summer picnic today. The first time gathering/meeting since The Festivus, our January gathering/meeting. No chapter show in May, no monthly meetings with the restaurant we use closed. We'll be gathering monthly at members' places and are looking at other venues. No room mat my place. This was nearby at the Johnsville Ruritan grounds

I dragged my Klunker out to revive it last week. I found the bare frame and fork lying on a farm dump up on the mountain back in '77 and brought it home. It's a '40s Columbia, once a top of the line bicycle. I didn't figure I'd ever find all the parts to restore it but I surely wanted to build something I could ride out of it. Then I read an article about Klunkers being built in Marin County, old balloon tire adult-size bikes with gears adapted to them. They were mostly for rockin' & rollin' downhill and the gears allowed them to be ridden back up. So I found my goal. The process of locating parts led me to Twigg's Cycles in Hagerstown, MD owned by a very enthusiastic man. It was there that I learned of the Schwinn Klunker5 that they had just come out with, and got to ride one. He helped my find some really cool parts for my custom build that consisted of a combination of vintage, beach cruiser (also a new thing), and adapted BMX parts. I built my own version of the Schwinn which was the first adult fat tire off road bicycle, predecessor to the mountain bike.

Well, time moved on, and the bike found it's way to the back of the pack, needing new cables and tires. And now it is getting those parts and she will roll once again! That black bike is the Schwinn I found many years later and ride regularly
