I would braze it or replace the rad

PCV

Steering wheel puller, auto zone or such might rent one, and general tools. While your at auto zone pick up a haynes repair manual, I think there is a step by step in there.

Hope that helps

Re: 73-87 4x4s

x2, you already got some great help there, yep a little brazing rod and a propane torch and you can braze that easy, lower the rad coolant first it actually has fumes that can burn slightly, no big deal and make sure it is clean, a bit of sandpaper lightly and a bit of brake cleaner on both. The column is a bit of a job but can always get help or a used one if you can't figure it out.

Re: 73-87 4x4s

Thanks Mud.Man. I fixed the Rad with a small bolt for a tv wire and two small nuts. Then I'll try to work on the pvc mold next week and finish it up with the steering wheel and new locking key.

Another thing I wanted to ask will a R16 Rim fit in a R16.5 tire?

mud.man.rj 03-27-2013 07:08 PM

Re: 73-87 4x4s

Oh a 16 rim will fit a 16.5" tire easy but will fit too loose and leak, have to match size on size exactly. Maybe you can trade one of the two for something that will fit. Maybe at an autowrecker.

Was an awesome road trip, so great to take old cool rides down the highway, well mine, theirs were on trailers, but the experience of cruising about 700 miles and cruising around the city with a cruise weekend going on was just great, felt like home with all the different hotrods around, like a big family, can't wait till next year.
