My preference too ;) ...and that book is out of print--no appendices or second editions--so we're safe.

wonder if we should do a poll, stock over modified, I think stock has more value

I cant tell you from my generation perspective (Im 27) tastefully modified is probably a lot more desireable. Especially since 90% of people my age never owned a carb'd engine or 4 wheel drum or manual steering vehicle in their life. when i first got my K5 i told my wife to pull the choke out and her response was.. "choke like on the lawn mower? why the hell does your truck have that?" LOL

I at least have a electric choke on mine. Lol. But I'm thinking about using a choke cable as a hand throttle since mine is stick.

Re: 70 Blazer Frame Off

I'm 28 and I'd have to say if it was all original and numbers matching I'd keep it original down to the spark plugs. Luckily my blazer was no where near original so I decided to try the ls swap. But I am taking the truck back to original looks including carpet and am radio. Now I did see an all original blazer down to the radiator hose clamps and I thought that was the coolest thing!

My $0.02 which doesn't buy you much these days.

A totally numbers matching, longstanding collectors model is generally going to get the bigger money restored to original. ie) A COPO model or a Tri-power vette, or a Tri-power GTO, or, or... I don't think Blazers are in that longstanding "collectors" bracket yet. Maybe someday. They sure are gaining popularity over the last decade.

This particular Blazer had a gorgeous restoration and I reference this thread from time to time while working on my own. I think it was an exceptional job, however, many items on it already were not factory correct or original so it was to some degree "resto-modded" already. How far one goes with that and what is acceptable is to each their own. The value is what the last person paid for it.

I love an all original numbers matching one too, but at the end it depends what type of vehicle you want. I've had all that stuff when I was younger, and as cool as it was, I've outgrown it. The way I look at it, and engine/trans swap will always be reversible as long as nothing gets chopped up. I think collectors down the road will see this, and I don't think it will reduce the value too much if anything. The newer engines and transmissions are sooooo much nicer to drive and I can't really see one negative in them over the old engines. The 20+ MPG is nice too !!

I see the Blazer around on Instagram. No matter what is done to it to try and change it a little. It was perfect the way it was before it sold and I'm no original, stock type of guy what so ever. To me that Blazer is and always will be IronCanine's Blazer.:ito:

I should let you know your build and color choice are wrecking havoc with my ability to choose a paint color :waah:

Soooo, thanks a lot

But seriously, it's an amazing/inspiring truck!
