Re: PO has me PO'd
Tun Tavern no longer exists, having burned down in 1781. Its original location is now occupied by Interstate 95. The National Museum of the Marine Corps in Quantico, Virginia contains a Tun Tavern-themed restaurant with a lunch menu and alcoholic beverages and bread pudding.

Wagner Halogen Headlights, really white light, 25 bucks a pop. The new relays really put the power to the lights, keeping it off of the 40 year old switch http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace124.jpg Thanks Tynee for the voltage regulator, good people on this board http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace126.jpg New relays for the electric fan and the electric water pump http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace133.jpg working on the electric fan install...had to modify the alum. rad. mounts again, this time it was because the harness got thicker with the relays on the passenger side...hindsight, mount all the relays on the drivers side http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace132.jpg Ended up cutting the mount horizontal, then making two cuts vertical with the cutoff wheel, then tapped the end back to close up the joint http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...replace131.jpg |

Good job Jim, are we driving the Jimmy to Kurt's?

Don't do it, we use salt on the roads in the winter...lots of salt. :( Jim, I've used those relays for the headlights before too, it's an excellent mod for sure. Nice report, didn't know you were injured, sorry to hear it, thanks for jambing around on the walker to get the pics tough. :haha: |

Sorry to hear you weren't feeling good. The Jimmy's really starting to look like a truck now... |
Re: PO has me PO'd
Looking at that pic of the relays reminds me I want to add side markers to my Blazer. Can you look at your harness and see which wire the side marker lamp taps off of? I don't know tho, its looking a lot like a nearly complete truck to me! Keep up the good work, Thanks, Jeff.

Re: PO has me PO'd
same boat. a guy painted my father-in-law's 70 truck in like 97 or 98. My 69 rusted so bad the cab was sitting down around the mounts. I tried for years to buy the 70 from my brother-in-law. He finally gave me the truck and I thought I had something by running my hand along the bottom of the rockers and visually checking, eyeballing. Brought it home and in the same boat as you, the guy overlayed the rockers. Tons of work now. Scott

Re: PO has me PO'd
i will get some afterwards pics. most of the rust has been cut away and replaced. replaced outer and inner rockers, one corner post, both cab corners and did some patch work on one floor pan....i will try to get some pics and get them posted. i can check things on this laptop but can't get pics posted. when my home PC is up again i can post the few before pics i have and some latter ones. right now i have parts swinging from near every rafter/truss in the building primed and will start painting parts early next week...will try to post them...s

Re: PO has me PO'd
well, got the electric rad. fan running, man does that Jeep /Chrysler fan blow/suck
Kinda Rube Goldberg, but I have to get a new fan shroud anyway. M&H did it again, just hooked the black and blue wires up, and grounded the temperature wire out, put the key in the on position and success. Removed about 2 inches from the shround, where the fan mounts up http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace14-3.jpg I may change where M&H broke out the wire, right now it comes out up at the rad. bracket. I think that it would be cleaner if I break it out down by the relay. I'll call them Monday and see if they mind http://i89.photobucket.com/albums/k2...eplace14-4.jpg |

Re: PO has me PO'd
Thanks, they turned out really good thanks for the info. I have gotten my whole cab done all of the cancer is gone and just have a couple of welds to clean up/hammer dolly. Now i am just trying to figure out whether to pay to have it blasted or strip the rest of the years of paint myself before painting.
