1960 Chevrolet Apache 4X4 truck - $23,500 (Lake Charles)
Sweet! But no front end pics... https://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/ct...253759995.html |
Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
That truck has those LONG front hubs that I find on the trail when riding my motorcycle.
They are always searching for the nearest rock. |

Asking 3400, says stored for while and no rust or leaks...grain of salt. Won’t last long if decent, or even marginal...not mine! |

Or Michigan,I see lots of good parts even if you wanted to part them out. Both big windows, beds don't look too bad, even the seat in the red truck looks ok, etc.

Re: Post your 60-66 craigslist finds
So, what is that "Z20 Engine Conversion" mean?
OK, I found the answer. Looks like the AIR equipment was left off and the holes in the head or manifolds were plugged! Wild! I've never heard of it coming from the factory like that, and I was a SMOG-licensed tech in California for many years.. I know plenty of people who did the plugs after the fact. I suspect that a run of engines that were "universal" as far as having the holes tapped in the heads for the AIR pipes needed the holes plugged later. Seems easier from a tooling standpoint. Plus, the SMOG stuff was changing rapidly in those days. |
