Re: 72 K30 Build
Brett, how are things? How's the family? Where ya been hiding? I stalked your profile and it said you were on here 12-01-21. How's that sweet K30 and the Camaro?

Things are good, how about you Ryan? Oh, you know life just gets in the way sometimes. The K30 is great, man I do like that truck. Here are some pics from last year.

Re: 72 K30 Build
It still looks great! The Camaro is looking pretty good too now! Where did you source your woodgrain bits for that truck? Do you remember?

Thanks, only 2,000 miles, most of it has been hauling stuff or dragging the car trailer around. Sold Old Blue last April (farewell pic from the day it sold :whine:) so the K30 is officially in service as needed.
Really need to get the Camaro build thread caught up, stuff has been happening on that one. Course I remember, (what was the question?) the woodgrain came from Gary Terry aka Cheyenne Superman, originally slated for the C10 project but I just couldn’t leave it inboxes. |

Cleanin' up the K30 for the C10 Nationals in Salt Lake this weekend. Don’t know if anyone here is planning to attend, but if you do make sure to stop and say hello. ;)

All good things come to an end, while at the C10 Nationals in Salt Lake, I got an offer for the K30 that I couldn’t refuse. El Ray has sold to a real 67-72 enthusiast with several trucks and a really cool project truck in the works. According to what I gather, the truck will be outfitted with the new owner's cabinet shop logo and begin transporting materials for the business.
I’ve invited the new owner to join the forum and take over this thread with some updates on what he does with it. Here are some pics of when we bought our truck as an RV and a couple of our K30 pulling away with its new owner, it’s really going to be missed. :waah: |
Re: 72 K30 Build
That is a nice truck.

Re: 72 K30 Build
Wow! Brett just caught up on the thread. I wanted to go to c10 nationals in SL but had too much going on. I hope the new owner keeps the thread updated.
What’s the next project? |

I know, WTH I’m all out of flatbed trucks! Ha, not happening! Actually, my grandson is getting his driver's license in a few months and he’s saving his money to buy Grandpa’s Ranger. Yup, that's 2 down so I’m thinking I’m in need of a new truck.
Found this 2021 GMC Canyon AT4 CPO with only 7300 miles on it. Has the tow package (w/trailer brake built-in) and they say it can tow up to 7K with its 3.6 V6 and 8 spd auto (?). We will see, if not I might just need to go after a new aluminum car trailer. Time will tell, for now, the new truck is way fancy and Mrs. 7dee2 likes it so there you go. :gmc: |
Re: 72 K30 Build
Brett, are you feeling okay after letting go of the awesome dually and parking that gmc in it's spot?

Ha, I do miss the K30 but am getting used to it being gone. The Camaro project is in full swing and our C10 shorty waiting to be built helps to distract me.
The Canyon did alright on its first car trailering tasks but the short, short bed feels more like an SUV than a truck. My grandson has decided learning a manual was just not his cup of tea. So, I’m still running the wheels off my little parts hauler Ranger! ;) |
