Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Count me in the blue freak club. Nothing attracts me to a vehicle more than a nice shade of blue. It can be the ugliest damn car ever built, but if it has a sweet blue on it, I'll walk over and check it out.

The grille update in itself is fine. It doesn't bother me that it was updated and kept the sealed beam headlights, but I don't like the funky "mess" in the openings. I think the mesh is part of the grille. A cheap eBay thing. The big killer on the grille update is the use of the stock '88-'93 parking lights. Those lights don't fit right in the later grilles and just look ugly in there. Replace the parking lights with some stock '94-'98 pieces or some nice diamond clear aftermarket pieces and then cut out the "mesh" in favor of billet or something else. The chrome grille does look a little out of place with the painted bumper and everything else on the truck being chrome-free. Maybe color match the grille, or my personal preference, swap to a GMC grille. I do like the sidemarker lights, though. I wish they would make them for the '94-'98 GMC grilles. The wheels, though not really that bad, just don't work for me. They're too blingy. The interior looks super-clean from what can be seen. I had a similar seat in my truck long ago. I didn't like the woodgrain, so I smoothed it out and then painted it an accent color, in my case it was gray with the same color blue interior. But like I said, the overall package looks really good and that blue is very nice. I'm a sucker for blue. :) The truck was built to the taste of the owner, which isn't all bad, but my tastes tend to skew a little off from the masses and it would need a bit of tweaking to fit my liking. |

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
tdp that's a good lookin 88. Somebody's put a lot of work in it for sure. I have always liked blue interiors. That paint is a gorgious shade of blue. I too like the small sealed beam headlamps and have them on my 97 GMC. Hope it turns out to be a good truck for ya.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
That's a good looking shorty. I know everybody else has said it too, but that blue really is awesome. Do you have any plans for it?

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
Man, that interior is decked out! The wheel looks like it might get a little hot in the Texas sun, though. You weren't kidding; it is super-clean inside.
Edit: And I guess you won't be hauling a lot of mulch:lol: |

Nice edit of my post Scotts.
So you can never post any criticism or personal opinion about other vehicles on this site, right? As long as you're a "yes" man, you're free to post. That seems to be the case, so....no thanks. I'm done posting anything here. |

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
That's a really good looking truck. I'd do some work with the grill and maybe remove a couple interior pieces and leave it as is. Honestly the roll pan, painted lights don't bother me on this truck and I'm not a fan either. It's works with the blue.
I've wondered what some billet in a blue stockish interior would like. I have blue in my truck and just bought some used billet pieces. Nice to get a preview. Thanks for the picks. Keep us updated with what you do with the truck. |

JWall - I love that truck every time I look at it. You did everything just right with it. I think I'm going to polish the billet I have like yours.

here is my First truck back from a total transmission and engine replacement. Been out of commission a year, but i love how it turned out.
Its got a new 350, TBI, TH700R4, corp 14 full float with 4.11:1 gears, and the normal front IFS. (would prefer a Dana 60). Also new tires, dick cepek crushers 285/75R16. Attachment 634059 |

Sold my 67 to pay off some medical bills, hated it so much but sometimes you have to do what you have to do.

Post them if you get a chance. What did you do to divide the two colors? Stripe of some kind?

A quick snapshot when I got home tonight. Here are the twins, they aren't identical or anything, but the same Momma and the same year.

Re: How about some pics of 88-98 Trucks
nice man.
Do you have a load leveling hitch or something on there?? I just have to think that the weight of a truck (assuming 3000-5000 lbs) would make a 1500 squat down a lil more than that. |
