My cousin has had several confrontations with them because he is doing something different than what it's intended purpose is. They aren't in the business of that, and get quite rude.

X 2... I'm trying to get the VIN for my 6.0 to purchase the correct DBW pedal and keep getting the run arround...

That sux about the pedal issue! Had you known a week ago you could have already acquired the correct assembly and had Fred up and driving...at speed ;). But at least you figured it out and it sounds like you are only a day away from near completion (don't forget the A/C...I'm gonna need you to figure that out before I start mine :) )

If you already have the PCM, see if you can find someone local that tunes them, they can pull the VIN from it. I think even since the stealerships can reflash them, they should be able to tell you also.

I got off the phone with Rock Auto a little while ago, they have already emailed me a pre-paid FedEx label to send the pedal back. They acknowledged that the part was boxed incorrectly, so they will credit my debit card the full price including the 2nd day FedEx shipping I paid. Rancho should take a clue from Rock Auto in customer service.....

The dealer ordered the pedal and harness for overnight shipping, so I should have that by lunch time tomorrow. So, if nothing else goes wrong (where the hell is some wood!), we'll be cruising this weekend!! :metal:

I've pretty much decided on the high-mount kit from Kwik Perf. It's just too tight in the stock location for my liking. Not saying it can't be done, it just doesn't set well with me.

Anyone need an 04-05 pedal that has already been converted to use the original truck pedal? :haha:

Im a GM parts guy, if you need some help just PM me. I can get part numbers and pricing for you. I may not be fast because I don't have internet access at work(yeah, I know). This also goes for anyone else, just let me know.

I hope you go crusing this weekend with the new powerplant, it's been a long wait for us internet watchers  Actually you work very fast, im just very impatient.

Well, I guess I should change my answer from "nope, not a chance now" to "partly cloudy with a chance of meatballs."

I'll know tomorrow night either yes or no. After that, I'm out of business days to order parts to arrive in time for a Sunday cruise. :D

Bob, you should have called me. I may have been able to get you a little price break on that pedal from my parts department at work. ;) Glad it has the potential to come out this weekend. Hopefully it is as warm as it is supposed be this weekend.

Ya know, I didn't even think about it at the time. By the time I figured out what the problem was and what I really needed for a pedal, I had about 30 minutes to decided if I wanted to get them or not so they could get the order in on time to have them here today. Oh well, next time!

Ed, back at ya!

Haha, yeah I did. If you want to, go for it! I think it would be hilarious! But otherwise, I'm pretty much done with them. If for some strange reason I do get the parts from him, I'll probably just sell them. Actually, if he DOES have the right parts and hasn't shipped them yet, tell him you are there to get them for me! :haha: You know as much of the details as he does, more actually! Tell him you are my Sacto family boss!

Thanks Aaron!

Dennis, it will cost me about $250 to set up the 3.42 R&P I have into Fred's rear end, so for me that's a good price for a complete rear end that will also give me the extra width that I want. But I just found one in Aurora for $175 that I could probably get for $150, I'll probably know about that one Friday.

I can get truck rear ends for $85 complete at the pull it yourself yard with a 30 day warranty or pay $300 at the main yard and get a six month warranty.

They sell the gears and carrier as a set for $47. Only thing missing is the carrier bearing races and shims. For some reason they don't leave those on the assembly.

The ones with ultra low miles (like under 1000) go for a little more but most are just $47.
